Greetings friends, for some time now I have been sharing my splinterlands art in the community and today I would like to share another creation inspired by these characters. In this case inspired by a card called Manticore.

It's a pretty scary character if you look at the card, but inspired by this character I wanted to do something different, something tender and that was totally opposite to what is in the card, but keeping some features.

Saludos amigos, desde hace un tiempo he estado compartiendo mi arte de splinterlands en la comunidad y hoy me gustaría compartir otra creación inspirada en estos personajes. En este caso inspirado en una carta llamada Manticore.

Es un personaje bastante aterrador si se ve en la carta, pero inspirado en este personaje quise hacer algo distinto, algo tierno y que fuese totalmente opuesto a lo que está en la carta, pero conservando algunos rasgos.

It certainly is scary, but thinking about this, I imagined what this big beast would be like as a baby, or puppy, whatever you prefer to call it, so I created myself a little baby Manticore inspired by this letter. I made something cuddly and charming out of a scary letter.

Here are a couple of pictures, before I continue with the step by step:

Ciertamente es aterradora, pero pensando en esto, imaginé cómo sería esta gran bestia siendo bebé, o cachorro, como prefieran llamarla, así que me creé una pequeña Manticore bebé inspirada en esta carta. Hice algo tierno y encantador de una carta aterradora.

Step by step

The first thing I did for the sculpture was the base, a piece of wire fixed to another piece of cardboard with plasticine and hot silicone. I covered this same base with more plasticine, in this case a green one.

Paso a paso

Lo primero que hice para la escultura fue la base, un trozo de alambre fijado a otro pedazo de cartón con plastilina y silicón caliente. A esta misma base la cubrí con más plastilina, en este caso una de color verde.

For the body of the Manticore I made a small plasticine sphere, this was a little more elongated to a common circle, to create a shape closer to the body of this beast. There I placed it on the wire base I had created.

Para el cuerpo de la Manticore hice una pequeña esfera de plastilina, esta era un poco más alargada a un circulo común, para crear una forma más cercana al cuerpo de esta bestia. Allí la coloqué, en la base de alambre que había creado.

Next were the little paws. The idea was to make something cute, so I made these little paws that looked like a little dog or cat sitting down and placed them on the bottom of the elongated sphere, as they were the hind legs.

Lo siguiente fueron las patitas. La idea era hacer algo tierno, así que hice estas pequeñas patitas parecidas a las de un perrito o un gato sentado y las coloqué en la parte inferior de la esfera alargada, pues eran las patas traseras.

I made the same type of legs for the front legs, only I made them elongated, because the Manticore was sitting and the upper body was higher on the back.

Hice el mismo tipo de patitas para las delanteras, solo que lo hice alargadas, pues la Manticore estaba sentada y la parte superior del cuerpo estaba más elevada en la trasera.

Next was to work with the head. For this one I made a sphere of the same color plasticine and made it a little wider at the bottom, flattening this area to make the chin shape that the character on the card has.

Lo siguiente fue trabajar con la cabeza. Para este hice una esfera del mismo color de plastilina y la hice un poco más ancha en la parte inferior, aplanando esta área para hacer la forma de barbilla que tiene el personaje de la carta.

There I put the head in place and made his mouth. I didn't want to give him that threatening mouth that you see in the letter, so I made a more tender mouth, like a kitten's, which is more charming at this stage of the Manticore's baby. Same with the eyes, I made them like the eyes of a sad puppy.

Allí coloqué la cabeza en su sitio y le hice la boca. No quería darle esa boca tan amenazante que se ve en la carta, así que le hice una boca un poco más tierna, como la de un gatito, que en esta etapa de bebé de la Manticore es más encantadora. Igual los ojos, los hice como los ojos de un perrito triste.

I made the tail smaller, but with a sort of a pinhole that will develop as the beast continues to grow.

La cola la hice más pequeña, pero con una suerte de agujón que irá desarrollándose a medida que la bestia continúe creciendo.

The last touch I made was the mane of this beast. I made it in a yellow color because there are animals that have a color when they are small and when they grow up they change, so I thought that this color was more appropriate for this Baby Manticore.

First I placed it in big pieces and then I made small lines to blend the joints and create those hair-like shapes. I also added the cute and adorable little ears that look so cute and cuddly.

El último toque que hice fue la melena de esta bestia. La hice de un color amarillo pues hay animales que de pequeños tienen un color y cuando van creciendo cambian, así que pensé que este color era más apropiado para este Baby Manticore.

Primero lo coloqué en trozos grandes y luego hice pequeñas líneas para difuminar las uniones y crear esas formas similares al cabello. También le coloqué las orejitas tan lindas y adorables que se ven.

This way this Baby Manticore was finished. Below you can see a series of pictures of the final result:
