Now, you know my niche is art, so I wanted to join this challenge by making one of my sculptures. In this case I was inspired by one of the new cards.

Rebellion está aquí, ese es el motivo por el cual tenemos esta temática en el Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, para que todos conozcan más sobre lo que se viene.

Ahora bien, saben que mi nicho es el arte, así que quise unirme a este reto haciendo una de mis esculturas. En este caso me inspiré en una de las nuevas cartas.

This letter looks great and is in itself a work of art, so I would like to share the creative process of this work. But first, here is a picture of how this sculpture turned out:

Esta carta se ve genial y es en si misma una obra de arte, así que me gustaría compartir el proceso creativo de esta obra. Pero antes, aquí una fotografía de cómo quedó esta escultura:

Step by step

The first thing I usually do for my sculptures is the framework, or skeleton. This piece has mobility; that is, it has raised arms, bent legs and a bent torso, so I had to make a support for the whole body.

To do this I used wire and thread.

Paso a paso

Lo primero que suelo hacer para mis esculturas es el armazón, o esqueleto. Esta pieza tiene movilidad; es decir, tiene los brazos levantados, las piernas flexionadas y el torso encorvado, así que debía hacerle un soporte para todo el cuerpo.

Para hacerlo usé alambre e hilo.

I used brown plasticine to start covering the whole skeleton with this material, to start molding. I didn't mind using this color, because the idea was to paint it later. Colors like the ones shown on the original card would be very difficult to achieve with plasticine alone, without painting.

Use plastilina marrón para comenzar a cubrir todo el esqueleto con este material, para comenzar a moldear. No me importó usar este color, porque la idea era pintarlo más adelante. Colores como los que manifiesta la carta original serían muy difíciles de lograr solamente con plastilina, sin pintar.

Once I covered the necessary areas, I started making the details.

It is a character that seems to have many horns and a very hard and resistant armor. It itself seems to have an interior made of lava, with a rock exoskeleton, as if it were a lava monster, which it is....

So I started making cracks, horns and spikes on shoulders and arms, plus protrusions on the waist and joints.

Una vez que cubrí las áreas necesarias, comencé a hacer los detalles.

Es un personaje que parece tener muchos cuernos y una coraza muy dura y resistente. En sí parece tener el interior hecho de lava, con un exoesqueleto de roca, como si fuese un monstruo de lava, que eso es...

Así que comencé a hacer grietas, cuernos y púas en hombros y brazos, además de protuberancias en la cintura y articulaciones.

In the photo below you can see better the amount of details I started to put on the piece, both on the neck and the shoulders.

I also covered the neck with yellow plasticine and then used the other brown plasticine for the head shell.

En la foto a continuación se pueden ver mejor la cantidad de detalles que comencé a colocar en la pieza, tanto en el cuello como en los hombros.

También le cubrí el cuello con plastilina amarilla y luego usé la otra plastilina marrón para la coraza de la cabeza.

With more brown plasticine I placed the upper part of the skull, which as I said looks like Greymon's, remember? the Digimon, well that Greymon. It reminded me a lot so I made it somewhat similar, keeping the shape of the original character.

Con más plastilina marrón coloqué la parte superior del cráneo, que como dije parece el de Greymon, ¿recuerdan? el Digimon, bueno ese Greymon. Me recordó mucho así que lo hice algo similar, manteniendo la forma del personaje original.

On the legs I also added a bunch of cracks and bumps where the lava that the monster is supposed to have inside is supposed to show through.

I also covered the cardboard base I had on the feet with more plasticine.

En las piernas también agregué un montón de grietas y protuberancias por donde se supone que se verá la lava que el monstruo tiene en su interior.

También cubrí la base de cartón que tenía en los pies con más plastilina.

Below you can see how the unpainted sculpture looked like, with all the cracks and details I could add to the character.

A continuación pueden ver cómo quedó la escultura sin pintar, con todas las grietas y detalles que pude agregar al personaje.

Below I show you the painting process. First I applied a coat of black paint, accompanied by a few white lines in the cracks as a base for the yellow.

A continuación les muestro el proceso de pintado. Primero apliqué una capa de pintura negra, acompañada de unas cuantas líneas blancas en las grietas como base para el amarillo.

I then began to paint the rest using color palettes ranging from yellow to red to different shades of orange.

Luego comencé a pintar lo demás usando paletas de colores que van desde el amarillo hasta el rojo, pasando por distintas tonalidades de naranja.

This way the sculpture was finished. I share with you some pictures of the final result.

De esta manera la escultura quedó terminada. Les comparto unas fotografías del resultado final.
