Splinterlands Art Contest 175: STONESPLITTER ORC as my first digital drawing! [ESP – ENG]
Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Tal como dice el título, esto se trata de mi primer dibujo digital el cual decidí hacerlo inspirado en el Stonesplitter Orc que aunque evidentemente no le hago nada de justicia pues me ha hecho mucha ilusión estar iniciando en este camino del dibujo digital acompañada del universo de Splinterlands que explota demasiado la creatividad de los miembros a través de estos concursos de arte. Sin mayores dilaciones, acá les voy a presentar este paso a paso, espero que disfruten del procedimiento tanto como yo puesto que fue a la vez uno de descubrimiento sobre las herramientas disponibles.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? As the title says, this is my first digital drawing which I decided to do inspired by the Stonesplitter Orc that although obviously I do not do it any justice because it has made me very excited to be starting on this path of digital drawing accompanied by the Splinterlands universe that exploits too much the creativity of the members through these art contests. Without further ado, here I am going to present this step by step, I hope you enjoy the procedure as much as I did since it was also one of discovery of the tools available.
Proceso - Process
Primero, saqué un boceto de manera que las características fuesen un tanto robustas siempre que estamos intentando recrear a un orco, cuyos rasgos son bastante fuertes.
First, I drew a sketch so that the features would be somewhat robust as we are trying to recreate an orc, whose features are quite strong.
Le agregué la nariz, los ojos y la boca tratando de simular el aspecto de ordo también.
I added the nose, eyes and mouth trying to simulate the ordo look as well.
Después de tener el boceto completo, diferente a lo que cualquier persona racional pensaría, me dedique a agregarle color al fondo de los ojos por alguna razón, supongo que porque los ojos me parecen muy intimidantes y quise empezar a hacer algo respecto a eso rápido por probar.
After I had the completed sketch, different from what any rational person would think, I started to add color to the bottom of the eyes for some reason, I guess because I find the eyes very intimidating and I wanted to start doing something about it quickly just to try it out.
Ahora sí, una vez terminé con el fondo de los ojos pasé a colorear con el color base de la piel de mi orco, quise usar una paleta de colores verde, aunque no estaba muy convencida. También cambié un poco la forma del interior de la oreja porque no me gustó demasiado como había quedado.
Now yes, once I finished with the background of the eyes I went to coloring with the base color of the skin of my orc, I wanted to use a green color palette, although I was not very convinced. I also changed a little the shape of the inside of the ear because I didn't like it too much.
Después le añadí el tono de sombra con algunas líneas en la frente para que se viera con una mayor expresión, algo que intenté también acentuando la curva sobre el ojo izquierdo a través del uso de la sombre, creo que allí va quedando.
I then added the shadow tone with some lines on the forehead to make it look more expressive, something I also tried accentuating the curve over the left eye through the use of the shadow, I think that's where it's going to stay.
Una vez listo eso coloqué el tono de iluminación en las zonas donde me parecía que iban, aunque la verdad no tengo mucha idea sobre eso.
Once that was done I placed the lighting tone in the areas where I thought they would go, although I really don't have much idea about that.
Como le faltaba algo de personalidad decidí ponerle una barba un poco más prominente de la que tiene el personaje y hacerla negra porque se ve mucho más joven.
Since he lacked some personality I decided to give him a slightly more prominent beard than the character has and make it black because he looks much younger.
Me di cuenta de que se veía algo raro la manera en la que salía la curva desde el cuello en la parte izquierda del dibujo así que decidí cambiársela, recortando algo parte de la clavícula y aprovechando además para eliminar excesos del color que sobresalían.
I realized that it looked a little weird the way the curve of the neck was coming out from the left side of the drawing, so I decided to change it, trimming part of the clavicle and also taking advantage of the opportunity to remove some of the excess color that was sticking out.
En este punto la verdad es que no me estaba gustando para nada cómo se veía con la paleta de colores que elegí así que decidí usar un truco que me enseñó un amigo y cambiar las tonalidades usando la opción de modificar el matiz, cambiando poco a poco el color base, el de sombra y el de luces por algo un poco más sobrio que no resultase tan brillante al ojo.
At this point the truth is that I wasn't liking at all how it looked with the color palette I chose so I decided to use a trick a friend of mine taught me and change the shades using the option to modify the shade, changing little by little the base color, the shadow and the highlight for something a little more sober that wouldn't be so bright to the eye.
Le añadí más sombras.
I added more shadows.
Y finalmente le cambié la nariz por una forma un poco mejor que la anterior, todavía soy nueva en las formas básicas.
And finally I changed the nose to a slightly better shape than before, I'm still new to basic shapes.
Le agregué color a los dientes con tonalidades amarillentas, sabemos que los orcos en realidad por lo que dictan los estereotipos no cuidan mucho su higiene, y este personaje es una prueba de ello, aunque se ven como oro.
I added color to the teeth with yellowish tones, we know that orcs don't really take care of their hygiene, and this character is a proof of that even though they look like gold.
Corregí un poco las sombras porque no correspondían mucho, aunque solamente fueron errores que cometí en la zona inferior del ojo derecho y en parte de la oreja, sin embargo creo que se nota la diferencia.
I corrected the shadows a little bit because they didn't correspond much, although I only made mistakes in the lower area of the right eye and in part of the ear, but I think you can see the difference.
Agregué más luces para resaltar un poco las zonas.
I added more lights to highlight the areas a bit.
Hice el boceto de los ojos que me había faltado, no tenía idea de cómo hacerlo pero me fui por algo simple que terminó con algo de influencia de reptil.
I did the eye sketch that I had been missing, I had no idea how to do it but went for something simple that ended up with some reptilian influence.
Elegí la paleta de colores de los ojos con amarillo como base, le hice un poco las zonas oscuras con una tonalidad naranja y el brillo con un amarillo claro para al final mezclarlo en algo medio uniforme usando el pincel de acuarela, que he estado usando para todos los pasos del dibujo.
I chose the color palette of the eyes with yellow as a base, made the dark areas a little bit with an orange shade and the brightness with a light yellow to finally blend it into something medium uniform using the watercolor brush, which I have been using for all the steps of the drawing.
Después como quedé complacida con el resultado del dibujo, fui quitando los excesos de los bocetos para que quedara algo más limpio.
Later, as I was pleased with the result of the drawing, I removed the excesses of the sketches to make it cleaner.
Decidí probar darle un poco más de detalle a la barba para que se viera más natural y no tan rudimentaria.
I decided to try giving the beard a little more detail to make it look more natural and not so rudimentary.
Le agregué un fondo usando el mismo pincel de acuarela con una tonalidad entre marrón y amarilla para resaltar.
I added a background using the same watercolor brush with a shade between brown and yellow to highlight.
Añadí una capa se sombra en negro con un porcentaje de difuminado.
I added a layer of black shadow with a blending percentage.
Finalmente le terminé dando un toque a los ojos para hacerlos protagonistas también del dibujo con la opción de luminosidad.
Finally I ended up giving a touch to the eyes to make them also protagonists of the drawing with the option of luminosity.
