General Sale for Chaos Legion Coming in a Few Hours!

Every Splinterlands player or investor knows it. Today, 17 January, is the day the general sale for the Chaos Legion pack starts. We are only a few hours away from the moment the flood gates open.

We already had two presale phases, where the purchases were limited through the use of vouchers. This won't be the case during the general sale, where vouchers will only be needed for bonus packs, they aren't a pre-condition to be able to buy.

I expect this to be like a flood, because many held off to buy during the general sale only (or mostly). I can't resist myself, and I'll buy another 100 packs, if I can make it during the 24 hours.

Why during the first 24 hours? Because all packs bought during the initial 24 hours count for the rest of the airdrops, regardless how many packs are purchased. This exception is very useful because I believe several million USD are likely to be thrown at Chaos Legion packs early in the general sale. And if this 24-hour exception wouldn't be in place everyone would hurry to buy in the very first seconds or minutes, most likely breaking the site, regardless of the measures the team has taken to counteract that.

A few days ago the team added a poll on Discord inviting us to guess how many packs will be sold during the first 24 hours of the general sale. I added my number in, we'll see how close I'll get to it. First three get some packs. :)

My guesstimate is, that including the bulk deals Aggy made at the end of the year and which I assume will be counted for the first day of the general sale, there might be more sales during the first 24 hours of Chaos Legion general sale than ALL previous sets combined (1.5mil Untamed + 0.9mil Beta + 0.3 Alpha = 2.7mil packs). That would be HUGE! I was actually more optimistic with my number, but we'll have to see if the general crypto market sentiment has tempered the interest of some whales or the opposite.

Hopefully everything goes well, because that will likely be the most profitable day in the history of Splinterlands - the company. Which will likely be great for Splinterlands asset holders and players on the medium-long term.

How many packs do you think they will sell during the first 24 hours?

Hey man! Excellent post! I've published my strat in this post. I will buy 350 packs to get the airdrop. And I will continue buying them until I can be eligible for all the airdrops. I won't open them, just HODL.

Thanks! Yes, holding packs has ALWAYS been profitable to this day. But I prefer to open them. I either use them on my play deck or rent them out. More hands-down, but quite profitable too on the long run...

Logically some selling pressure should go away. But you never know...

I might try to get some packs as well. Depending on the price of voucher (higher or lower than $4) I will try to get some bonus or not.

I kept two days of VOUCHER drop to cover for the bonus on 100 packs. But if you're in for lots of packs, yep, the cost of vouchers can count for the bonus packs. I bought most of them during the presale. I'll buy some more during the general sale, but unlikely to buy as much.
