I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2024, for reference, if needed.

I'll get right to it, with no intro because there's quite a lot to write and no fill-in-the-blanks, lol.

52-Week HBD Savings Challenge

A 52-week challenge following the popular model starts slowly and becomes increasingly more difficult with every passing week. The challenge is not at the beginning but at the end. That's why, we can use the easy start to prepare for the tougher weeks ahead.

In my case, I started with 1 HBD in week 1. This is also the step with which the amount that needs to be saved increases every week. The rule is, in my case: I need to add to savings the amount of HBD per week equal to the week number in the challenge. That means, in week 52 I'll need to save 52 HBD.

Although this is the first update for my Hive goals in 2024, it's the second week for the HBD savings challenge, because I save for the current week on Mondays to benefit from a week of interest. Since I write my weekly goals updates on Mondays, they catch the 52-week HBD savings challenge 1 week in advance.

So, here's how things look right now (nothing spectacular so far):

Evidently, for the time being, I can also afford to make some weekly reserves for this challenge and I do.

Posting & Commenting Goal

Compared to my initial goals set, I decided to make these two a single goal. If any one of them is missed, the goal is missed. Being treated as a package makes this goal a little more difficult, but given previous experience, should be a relatively sure thing, although it needs daily grinding all year long, compared to the other goals.

Here's the situation so far:

I started the year with 1655 posts published. The target is to hit 2005. I could have made it a round 2000, but 345 posts published in 2024 seems too easy.

I haven't missed a daily post this year yet (wouldn't have been a good sign for this goal if I had started missing them from the first week, lol). Reached 1662, with 343 left to hit the target in 2024.

I started the year with 17,075 comments made. The year-end target is 22,000. Ended the week with 17173, which means I made 98 comments last week, slightly above the weekly average I need to reach the comments target by the end of the year.

I currently need an average of 95 comments weekly to reach the comments target by the end of the year.

Land Plots Unlocked

This is a natural progression of the same goal (with a different target) from the last part of 2023. Now the target is to unlock all my 100 plots.

Started the year with 31 plots unlocked. I have 2 more plots under construction right now. For the accounting part of this goal, I'll add plots under construction as unlocked, to better see changes from week to week, even though, technically, they are not productive until the clearing part is finished and you feed the workers.

Here's the current situation:

And a more detailed view:
Productive Plots: 31
Under Construction: 2

ZING Multiplier

I thought this is a good name for this goal, given the current APRs.

I started the year with roughly 11,400 ZING (or ZING-worth tokens - I calculate the SWAP.HIVE part of the diesel pool here since I haven't added any outside SWAP.HIVE, it's just ZING swapped to SWAP.HIVE to be pooled to ZING).

Of all the goals this year, this is the only one that is meant to be progressive from the start. The 25,000 target is not the final target for 2024, but only a first milestone.

Many variables prevented a good estimation of what the 2024 goal should be. Among them, the fluctuating APRs (likely to drop in time), the fluctuating price of ZING (maybe), and future ways to earn ZING.

I will likely replace this goal with a new one once different ways to earn ZING are introduced and gameplay is released. The future goal may have nothing to do with amassing ZING, just like on my Splinterlands goals last year I replaced my DEC + cards goals with the Land Plots Unlocked goal.

Here's the current situation:

So, started with 11,400. Currently, ZING-worth holdings (diesel pool, staked, for the gadrian account): 13,041. Made a good 12% jump toward the 25k milestone.

LEO Staked

Last but not least, my LEO staked goal. I added it last not because it's the least important, but because it's probably the most unlikely to fail (the ZING one would be easier, but that's a milestone).

The LEO staked goal is different this year, as I described in my initial post about my 2024 goals. Just like I don't have a HP goal this year, I don't have a REAL LP goal either. The difference between HIVE and LEO is that HIVE curation and at least half of the author rewards are paid as HP, while all LEO rewards are paid liquid. If I don't power down, I will still accumulate HP throughout the bull market, but if I don't stake more LEO, I won't accumulate more LP. So, I have added a very light staking goal for LEO this year, remaining to see how I'll invest the liquid LEO afterward (most likely some LPs will be among the options). But that won't be an official goal per se. It's something I'll do, like many other things during this bull market, without being necessarily part of my weekly Hive updates.

So, the target for 2024 is 25,000, and I started the year from 22,500.

My first idea was to complete the goal first, and then build up liquidity. But I might do them at the same time. I'll think about it some more.

If I do them concomitantly, I need to stake 300 LEO in January, and then 200 LEO every month to complete the goal in December. Normally, that fits perfectly with participating in LPUD every month.

Ah, speaking of LPUD... Starting this month, I'll be a sponsor of one of the delegations, if @anomadsoul doesn't forget. 😉

For now, I staked 100 LEO, to have something staked in 2024.

Here's the current situation:

I haven't missed a daily post this year yet

That is extremely hard to do, especially in the way how you are doing your posts, where every post is well prepared and done... I'm not sure that I will be able to do it... I know that I was more consistent with posting every day before, but today, I couldn't do it... So, big congrats for doing it last year!

Regarding your ZING goal, you will reach the 25K goal in the next 2-3 months... The APR has to go down as new tokens are entering the market and the price will go down... It happened last year with GLX tokens where it had a similar launch, and happened with many other tokens... It is imminent, but that doesn't mean that it's not profitable...

Good luck with your goals!!!

It's true. Some posts, if we count comments too, will take several hours daily. So yeah, it's not easy, but I guess I just got used to it and still can afford to do it because I don't have something like a business on Hive (other than my personal investments) or nodes to take care of regularly. That's also one of the reasons I am reluctant to move in these directions. Because I still think I enjoy posting regularly.

Yep, that's how long I estimate too for this part. It is a milestone. I will probably have a different Holozing goal once the game is launched.

I cannot see the pictures, I do not know if it is the website or my PC. But seems a good plan. No HBD?

I don't know why I don't see the images. I see them, and I tried on two interfaces.

No HBD?

It's my first goal, the "52-Week HBD Savings Challenge".

If you are wondering if I have more HBD than the 3 HBD for the challenge, yes I do. And I will use it to help with the challenge as it becomes more difficult in the future.

It looks like you are getting better with posting and commenting and I really like that
Anyway, I’m glad about your progress and I’m sure you can do better

It looks like nice progress so far. It looks like ZING progress went up by quite a bit. I have definitely heard that the diesel pool is giving out the highest return so I guess the APR should drop over time. So making some progress now is better

That is true. That APR won't last too much longer, and also, I'd like to hit that milestone before the game is launched, if possible.

Initially I thought the HBD goal might be very difficult. But thinking about it more now, it should be workable. In the first few weeks, you should have a lot banked since you're just putting in small amounts of HBD. Using those banked HBD in the latter part of the goal makes it easier. My initial thought was that you had to earn the HBD that week.

Good luck on your goals, and it is good to see you started strong.

Yep, that's the idea. To prepare in advance for the later stages. If I needed to earn the HBD during the respective week, it would have been very hard at the end.

So far, I enjoy these goals this year, and the other parts that I haven't included in my goals but I still do daily, weekly, or whenever conditions will be met. But still, they might not be easy goals, thinking only at the Land goal for example, which may seem simple, but it's not.

Your 2024 Hive goals are pretty impressive. I think they are completely achievable, all you need is enough motivation to carry through with them. Wishing you goodluck in your endeavours friend.

Yeah, they might be easier than the previous years, which is fine. We'll see how the year unfolds.

Amazingly, you have not missed a daily post this year. It is extremely difficult to do but hats off to your consistency level. I can see Holozing is giving a very good APR compared to other projects I hope the token will maintain the price.

It's still early in the year. I did the same thing last year until Christmas when I took a few days off from posting, but it wasn't one of my Hive goals.

Yeah, still early for Holozing, that APR can't hold too long. The price... remains to be seen. So far, it dropped, and it might continue to do so until there is more utility for the token.

We are seeing that there is a lot of interest in this project and its progress is going very well, so we will see more people's interest in it and its prices will also increase. A higher increase may be seen.

Great job on your goal setting @gadrian! Good work! Does the ZING represent DEC? Not sure I understood correctly. Thank you. Have a nice week. Barb !BBH !CTP #ctp

Does the ZING represent DEC? Not sure I understood correctly.

No, Barb! That's the token of a new game, Holozing, not yet launched. But the token and ways to earn it have been introduced for 2-3 months already.
