My Hive Goals - Week 18, 2022

Another week comes to an end, and it appeared to be a pretty bloody one for crypto, following the stocks.

I don't have a problem with that. While I do track my portfolio in USD, it's important to keep in mind that lower price levels of our favorite tokens bring with them the opportunities to buy more, if one is accumulating.

1. HIVE POWER and HBD Goals

That is my case with my HIVE Power goal. Since HIVE is a volatile token, it will move more or less with the crypto market. This means now it's at lower levels than a few weeks ago.

A cheaper HIVE means we can buy more with the same dollar amount, although if we don't use stablecoins or fiat to buy it we won't get more, because the entire crypto market tanked.

I am not ready to buy more significant amounts of HIVE at the moment, so this option is temporarily not important for me.

The other one is that we receive more HIVE Power for our author rewards when HIVE drops in value.

What's the reasoning for that?

Post rewards are distributed half to curators and half to the author.

The author's part of the post rewards is calculated as half in HBD and half in HP (so a quarter and a quarter of the post rewards). One can choose to receive them 100% as HP, in which case the HBD part is distributed as HP as well, instead of HBD.

If post rewards are 20$ , then 10$ worth of HP is distributed among the curators and the author's part of the rewards is 10$ , split as 5 HBD (assuming HBD at 1$ ) and 5 dollars worth of HIVE Power. If one chooses to receive 100% HP, then author rewards are 10$ worth of HIVE Power.

The bold part is what interests us. If HIVE's price is higher, you receive less HP. If HIVE's price is lower you receive more HP because 5$ represents more HIVE.

Back to my goals now...

With 65 more HP and 51 more HBD this week, the progress is still slow, but... it's more than I had last week. :)

The only remarkable event on this front during the past week is that I claimed my first 30 days of interest for HBD at 20%. Probably not the entire 30 days were at 20% APR also. But that was around 20 HBD, which surely was nice to add to my savings.

Splintershards (SPS) Staked Goal

Another 1500 SPS staked this week. This is not all the SPS I receive in a week, but I have another part in diesel pools. This goal is still one that I expect to complete by the time the airdrop is over.

Still focusing on summoners. No new ones maxed since the last report. I'm actually quite pissed at myself for not taking some great deals today and waiting to finish my DQ first. By the time I finished, they were off the market.

Social Targets

I started the week with 7535 comments and 7783 replies.

And now I am at 7680 comments and 7914 replies. They are both above my targets of 81 comments and 76 replies weekly to reach 10k of each by the year's end, which is good!
