I don't know why you say that and based on what.
It is not mandatory to play play to earn games and every play to earn game is also an investment and has risk factors to consider.
Investing only what you are willing to lose lightly is always the best approach
So many play to earn games have disappeared while Splinterlands after 5 years is an active project so I don't see how it can screw new players...
