Splinterlands Art Contest Week 372-Lyanna Natura

Greetings fellow artists! For the weekly art contest hosted by @splinterlands, I decided to present my personal version of Lyanna Natura, a reinterpretation that departs from the original image to embrace a fresher, more feminine, and sensual aesthetic. This illustration represents not only a visual transformation but also a symbolic evolution of a vibrant young woman, deeply connected to nature, as well as to her own inner beauty and power.
From the first sketch I made, I wanted Lyanna to convey serenity, strength, and charm. I moved away from the more cartoonish and rigid style of the original version to explore a more fluid and expressive line, typical of modern anime. Her face is now more delicate, with large blue eyes that reflect light and emotion, as if they held the sky itself. Her long, honey-colored hair falls in soft waves that evoke the breeze through the trees and is adorned with a tropical flower with warm petals, a symbol of life, femininity, and connection to the earth.
One of the most noticeable changes is in the clothing. Instead of the more structured and decorative attire of the original version, I opted for a design that feels organic, as if nature itself had clothed her. Her top is made up of green leaves, carefully shaded to give volume and texture, which intertwine naturally and elegantly across her chest. The blue skirt, barely visible at the bottom of the image, provides a vibrant and profound contrast, like the reflection of the sky in a river. A belt that resembles both wood and a serpent encircles her waist, marking the transition between the earthly and the divine.
The sketch is a search for balance between sensuality and respect for the character. I truly wanted Lyanna to be beautiful, yes, but also powerful and serene. Her expression conveys sweetness, but also wisdom. She is not a provocative figure, but a woman who knows she is part of the natural world, which she represents with pride and harmony. In her gaze there is peace, but also determination.
As for the colors, I worked with a warm and luminous palette. The green tones of the leaves range from emerald to olive, with touches of light that simulate the sun filtering through the foliage. The blue of the skirt is deep, almost regal, and contrasts with the gold of the belt and bracelet, which add a touch of royalty and a connection to the fertile earth. The background, in bright green tones, reinforces the idea that Lyanna is not separate from nature, but rather emerges from it, like a goddess or forest spirit.
To achieve the final effect, I used soft filters that enhance the light and give the image a more painterly finish. The anime style allowed me to play with the facial features, slightly exaggerating the eyes and expression to convey more emotion. The digital technique gave me the freedom to experiment with textures, shadows, and highlights, resulting in an illustration that feels alive, almost as if Lyanna could speak or move at any moment.
This version of Lyanna Natura is, in many ways, an extension of myself because I've poured my love for nature, my artistic sensibility, and my desire to represent femininity from a place of power, beauty, and authenticity into it. It's not just a pretty picture; it's a statement of principles, a celebration of what it means to be a woman, to be a creator, to be part of the natural world.
Participating in this contest with this illustration is, for me, a way to share my vision, to show that art can be a tool for transformation, reinterpretation, and connection. In this new version, Lyanna Natura doesn't just represent nature: she embodies it, honors it, and celebrates it.
