Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Back to Basics (ENG/ITA)

Hello, everyone, friends of Splinterlands!

I am finally beginning to understand how to deploy Rebellion cards on the battlefield, and in the recent Brawl, where only cards from the new edition could be used, I achieved my first victories. Personally, I am dedicating my time to exploring the potential of these new cards and improving my combat skills. Learning to master the different elements, using new abilities and configurations (especially concerning summoners), and adapting to various gameplay situations is an exciting journey, and Rebellion adds a touch of unpredictability that makes each game unique.

How wonderful it is to learn to use our monsters' abilities, but sometimes it's not necessary, as we'll see in this week's Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Back to Basics

With this ruleset, all monsters lose all their abilities, but this doesn't apply to those granted by summoners, making the choice of summoners even more crucial. Melee monsters lose significance except in the Tank position, as they can't attack from the second position to the last. Meanwhile, magical and Ranged monsters assume a crucial role, and the initial stats of each monster, including Speed, which influences both attack and defense, become more important.

Here is the link to the battle that I want to show you:

And these are the game rules:

Ruleset

A very reduced mana cap of only 16, Back to Basics, Target Practice, and Broken Arrows, preventing the use of Ranged cards, further limit our choices: this challenge requires a meticulous evaluation of each card to decide what to put on the field.

And here is the battlefield:

Battlefield

I chose a "classic" summoner with only 3 mana, Tyrus Paladium, and thus managed to occupy all 6 team slots, focusing more on quantity than quality. My lineup was as follows: Gargoya Scrapper, Furious Chicken, Pelacor Conjurer, Dax Paragon, Divine Healer, and Time Mage, bringing a well-balanced team with many magical monsters in the backline.

My opponent leaned towards one of my favorite Death element summoners, costing only 4 mana, Thaddius Brood, inflicting two heavy debuffs on the opposing team. His selection was straightforward: Pelacor Deceiver in the Tank position, behind Chaos Agent, and in the last position, Magi Necrosi.

Sometimes quantity matters more than quality! His Pelacor Deceiver, enhanced to level 5, benefited from the sacrifice of the other two monsters and reached Round 4 with a solid 8 Health points. However, it couldn't hold on until the end and succumbed to the final assault of my Time Mage, leading me to victory.

Back to Basics

Always has been my least favorite ruleset! I do what you did there, spread things out for firepower from each unit. Very smart move!

Knowing the abilities of each monsters will make it easy for players to win battles
That’s not a very serious task though, lol
Have a great day!
