Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! - Going the Distance (ENG/ITA)

Hello to all friends of Splinterlands !!!
Just finished the promo event Baron's Bounty, from which a brand new rare card with Ranged attack has emerged, which together with the Halving ability, can create a lot of damage to enemy teams: I'm talking about Henchling Enforcer, and it's one of the many examples of how cards with Ranged attack, if chosen and positioned correctly, can really hurt your enemies on the battlefield.
And that's what we'll see today in this week's Battle Mage Secrets Challenge!!!

Going the Distance: with this ruleset, only Ranged monsters can be deployed, but you can also choose cards with double attack, so, in general, if you have a card with double Ranged-Melee attack, you can put it in Tank position, and if you have a magic-Ranged card, you can deploy it, protected, in the rear of your team.
If you only have Ranged cards, it would be ideal to put a monster with the Close Range ability in the first position, which allows it to attack even from that position.
Here's the link to the battle I want to show you:
And these are the rules of the game:

An average Mana cap of 34, with, in addition to Going the Distance, two other rulesets, namely Lost Legendaries and Ferocity, which limit our choice, and for which it is better not to deploy cards with the Taunt ability.
And here's the battlefield:

I chose a relatively new summoner (Chaos of Legion-Riftwatchers edition), which I've used very little, namely Ilthain, who gives +1 in Speed, but above all the Return Fire ability, great for a challenge with all Ranged monsters. In Tank position, perhaps wrongly, I put War Pegasus, followed by Venari Marksrat, Anachron Bolter, Venari Crystalsmith, Chaos Lackey, and Peacebringer.
My opponent, on the other hand, opted for a much more seasoned summoner like Quix the Devious, with Venari Marksrat in Tank position, and, following, Runic Skyclaw, Angelic Mandarin, Swamp Spitter, Merdhampir, and, finally, Crustacean King.

A very long, painful, and fought challenge, but by around round 10 it was clear that defeat was inevitable for me.
I suffered a lot from the -1 Ranged attack debuff inflicted by the opponent summoner, Quix the Devious, and moreover, facing very powered-up cards, like the very strong level 3 Runic Skyclaw, made my team too disadvantaged, even being able to exploit the Return Fire granted by my summoner Ilthian.

https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_ab8c38a8a3ac9341c006469586762d48

In posizione tank, forse sbagliando, ho messo War Pegasus, e a seguire Venari Marksrat, Anachron Bolter, Venari Crystalsmith, Chaos Lackey e Peacebringer.

I'm loving the Henchling Enforcer at level 2, it's a fun card to use and not many people seem to have it. Ilthain is another card I've been playing with, I think I'm going to have to buy it because thee are so many ranged only battles anymore!

Yes, Ilthain is a recent discovery, I have only one card, but I might buy some to bring it at level 2.
