Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Rise of the Commons (ENG/ITA)
Hello to all friends of Splinterlands!!!
In the magical world of Splinterlands, opening a pack is a moment filled with excitement for every player. While the hope of discovering a legendary or epic card gleams in their eyes, it is crucial to remember that the value of a deck is not limited to the highest rarities. Common and rare cards, often overlooked in the frenzy of searching for rare gems, play a crucial role in battle strategies. Each card, regardless of its rarity, carries unique potential and can be the key to a strategic victory. So, while players dream of capturing the glory of legendaries, it is important to celebrate and appreciate the diversity and importance of the more common cards, which often form the backbone of teams engaged in the epic battles of Splinterlands.
And that's what we'll talk about today in the Battle Mage Secrets Challenge of this week!!!
Rise of the Commons: with this ruleset, only common or rare cards can be deployed, while epic and legendary cards are off-limits, except for summoners who are not affected by this rule. This means we must have a well-balanced collection of cards and not focus solely on expensive and very rare cards.
Here is the link to the battle I want to show you:
And these are the rules of the game:
A substantial Mana Cap of 43, and the two rulesets, Rise of the Commons and Counterspell, so, we can say it would be better not to deploy monsters with magic attack.
And here is the battlefield:
I chose, once again, my favorite summoner Yodin Zaku, with which I deployed a team mainly focused on Ranged attacks, but with Ferox Defender in the Tank position and Creeping Ooze in the second position, which, with its Slow ability, slows down opponents, followed by Blood Maker, Ash Mirage, Fire Caller, and Tinderlock.
Instead, my opponent chose one of the main summoners for Melee-based teams, Possibilus the Wise, and put together a nice Water-element team, starting with Diemonshark in the Tank position and followed by Coastal Sentry, Deeplurker, Swamp Spitter, Merdaali Guardian, and Angelic Mandarin.
In my opinion, my team wasn't bad, with the +1 in Ranged and the Blast ability provided by Yodin Zaku, resulting in very devastating attacks. However, the opposing team had 6 gold monsters out of 6, and the Trample ability given by Possibilus the Wise increased the number of decisive blows inflicted by the opposing monsters.
