Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Pixie-Knife Hurler (Eng/Ita)

In the last few days, the crypto market has finally taken a breath of relief. After a rather tense phase, with Bitcoin even touching the threshold of 80,000 $, the king of cryptocurrencies has climbed back above the psychological level of 90k. A movement that, although not representing a real trend reversal, has still given some oxygen to the entire sector, especially after weeks of uncertainty. This rebound, even if moderate, inevitably reflects on the Splinterlands ecosystem, where any change in general sentiment tends to amplify among the platform’s native tokens.

The timing could not be better, because we are still waiting for the final information on the launch of the Land Inaugural Cards, announced about two weeks ago. A highly anticipated update by the community, which could bring a breath of fresh air to the project and underline the importance of the Lands system within the game’s economy. In this sense, seeing a slight rise in DEC and SPS can only be positive. Every increase in SPS value, in particular, represents an additional incentive to interact with the Lands, considering that it is precisely there that this token can be “farmed”.

However, although the market recovery is encouraging, I still believe that the Lands need an additional push to truly become an integral part of competitive dynamics. The possibility of producing cards, items, or upgrades useful in Ranked battles could be the missing piece, a concrete way to link the managerial side of the Lands with the heart of the gameplay, that is, the battles.

While we wait for the next official announcements, this small breath of market relief allows us to look at the upcoming news with a bit more optimism, and perhaps even slightly higher expectations.

But today, in this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, we are going to analyze together one of the new Reward cards from the Conclave Arcana edition.

Pixie-Knife Hurler, ahah, the illustration of this Ulund monster from the Life element is immediately funny as soon as you look at it, in fact you can see this huge armored hippopotamus holding a tiny little miniature knife.

At level one, for a cost of 7 mana, it starts with 2 Ranged, Armor and Speed, and 6 Health, plus the Close Range ability.

In the following upgrades, it also gains the Dodge, Swiftness, Enfeeble and Heal abilities, reaching level 8 with a fairly high total of 5 abilities, not bad for a rare card.

The price per BCX is currently very low, with a value of only 0,097 $, making it extremely easy to upgrade this card, also because it is very common to find it in the Glint Store.

In this battle with a 36 Mana Cap and the Reverse Speed ruleset, I decided to trust the archon Eternal Tofu, placing Halfling Refugee in the Tank position, followed by Pallus, Gramel The Hunger, Pixie-Knife Hurler, Frigid Wolf and Elanor Bravefoot.

My opponent, instead, preferred the new CA archon named Fithe Bladestone, fielding Grimbardun Fighter in the first position, followed by Gobalano Soldier, Boring Hobgoblin, Echelon, Portly Cannoneer, and finally Vengeful Monk.

In the first two rounds it was a fairly even challenge, but little by little, thanks to the Scavenger ability granted by Eternal Tofu, my card Gramel The Hunger reached the third and final round with as much as 15 Health.

Pixie-Knife Hurler also held on until the last round, performing excellently, even though its 2 Ranged is a bit low, and never increases in any of its level upgrades, but the abilities it has are very useful, starting with Close Range which allows using it even in first position, although I would never intentionally place it there, unless in battles with exceptional rulesets such as Going The Distance.

Ciao a tutti amici di Splinterlands !!!

Negli ultimi giorni il mercato crypto ha finalmente tirato un sospiro di sollievo. Dopo una fase piuttosto tesa, con Bitcoin che aveva addirittura sfiorato la soglia degli 80.000 $, il re delle criptovalute è tornato sopra il livello psicologico dei 90k. Un movimento che, pur non rappresentando una vera inversione di trend, ha comunque dato un po’ di ossigeno a tutto il settore, soprattutto dopo settimane di incertezza. Questo rimbalzo, per quanto moderato, si riflette inevitabilmente anche nell’ecosistema di Splinterlands, dove ogni variazione del sentiment generale tende ad amplificarsi tra i token nativi della piattaforma.

Il tempismo non potrebbe essere migliore, perché siamo ancora in attesa delle informazioni definitive sul lancio delle Land Inaugural Cards, annunciate ormai due settimane fa. Una novità molto attesa dalla community, che potrebbe portare una ventata di freschezza al progetto e ribadire l’importanza del sistema delle Lands all’interno dell’economia del gioco. In questo senso, vedere un leggero rialzo di DEC e SPS non può che essere positivo. Ogni incremento del valore di SPS, in particolare, rappresenta un incentivo aggiuntivo all’interazione con le Lands, considerando che proprio lì è possibile “farmare” questo token.

Tuttavia, per quanto il recupero del mercato sia incoraggiante, resto dell’idea che le Lands abbiano ancora bisogno di una spinta ulteriore per diventare realmente parte integrante delle dinamiche competitive. La possibilità di produrre carte, oggetti o potenziamenti utili nelle battaglie Ranked potrebbe essere il tassello mancante: un modo concreto per collegare il mondo gestionale delle Lands con il cuore del gameplay, ovvero i combattimenti.

In attesa delle prossime comunicazioni ufficiali, questo piccolo respiro del mercato ci permette di guardare alle novità con un po’ più di ottimismo , e forse anche con aspettative leggermente più alte.

Ma oggi, nello Splinterlands Social Media Challenge di questa settimana, andiamo ad analizzare insieme una delle nuove carte Rewards dell'edizione Conclave Arcana.

Pixie-Knife Hurler: ahah, l'illustrazione di questo mostro Ulund dell'elemento Life, fa subito ridire appena la si guarda, infatti si vede questo enorme ippopotamo con l'armatura, che tiene in mano questo piccolissimo coltello in miniatura.

Al primo livello, per il costo di 7 mana, parte con 2 di Ranged, Armor e Speed, e 6 di Health e l'abilità Close Range.

Nei successivi potenziamenti, ottiene anche le abilità Dodge, Swiftness, Enfeeble e Heal, arrivando così al livello 8 con un totale abbastanza alto di 5 abilità, non male per una carta rara.

Il prezzo per BCX, attualmente, è molto basso, con una quotazione di solo 0, 097 $, potenziare questa carta diventa un gioco da ragazzi, anche perchè è molto frequente trovarlo nel Glint Store.

In questa sfida con il Mana Cap di 36 e il ruleset Reverse Speed, ho deciso di dare fiducia all'archon Eternal Tofu, mettendo Halfling Refugee in posizione Tank, seguito da Pallus, Gramel The Hunger, Pixie-Knife Hurler, Frigid Wolf e Elanor Bravefoot.

Il mio avvversario, invece, ha preferito il nuovo archon CA di nome Fithe Bladestone, schierando Grimbardun Fighter in prima posizione, con a seguito Gobalano Soldier, Boring Hobgoblin, Echelon, Portly Cannoneer, e , per finire, Vengeful Monk.

Nei primi due round è stata una sfida abbastanza alla pari, ma pian piano, grazie all'abilità Scavenger donata da Eternal Tofu, la mia carta Gramel The Hunger è arrivata al terzo e utlimo round con ben 15 di Health.

Anche Pixie-Knife Hurler ha resistito fino all'ultimo round, comportandosi egregiamente, anche se il suo di 2 di Ranged è un po' scarno, e non aumenta mai in nessuno dei suoi potenziamenti di livello, però le abilità che possiede sono molto utili, a partire da Close Range che lo rende utilizzabile anche in prima posizione, anche se non lo metterei mai in quel ruolo di proposito, a meno di sfide con ruleset eccezionali come Going The Distance.
