Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! - Rebellion Heavyweights (ENG/ITA)

copertina1.jpg

Hello to all friends of Splinterlands!!!

After writing many posts about agile and swift monsters that cost few mana from the new Rebellion edition, it's time to analyze the heavyweights, the true Mike Tysons of the Splinterlands battlefield. These are the new monsters that cost a lot of mana: we're talking about 9-10, sometimes even 13 in cost. Choosing them carefully is crucial because while they certainly offer a lot in terms of abilities and stats, they risk taking the place of multiple cheaper cards that, when combined, could bring more benefits to the team.

ulundin overseer.jpg

Ulundin Overseer: This neutral element hippopotamus caresses its belly as if it has just eaten, or perhaps because it wants to devour its opponents. With no attack and only one ability, Flank, it stands as an excellent candidate for the Tank position when we are confused and have no other alternatives. With its 12 Health points and 5 Armor from level 1, it may not be the first choice in all challenges, but it's always good to have it within reach.

bera dallin.jpg

Bera Dallin: A very interesting melee card of the Life element, it possesses the Armored Strike ability from level 1, giving it an additional melee attack equal to the Armor stat, and Taunt. Uriel The Purifier is already trembling because it could lose its tank position in the Life group, although they are two very different cards. Bera Dallin, with its Taunt ability, will be targeted throughout the game, acting as a lightning rod for its teammates but decreasing its own life and duration on the field.

Lord thanalor.jpg

Lord Thanalor: This card seems to be a no-brainer in challenges with a high Mana Cap in the Earth element since it offers 3 points of magical attack and the Amplify ability from the first level. Perhaps the cost/stats ratio is a bit unfavorable; 12 mana is a very high price, and there are other cards that may have more abilities. A good card, perhaps with the Obsidian summoner that also gives it +1 in attack.

redwyrm dragon.jpg

Redwyrm Dragon: Here's another dragon joining the Splinterlands family, with Immunity and Flying and good stats from the first level. The 2 points of magical attack are a bit subdued and don't increase even at level 6 enhancement.

Endura Brune.jpg

Endura Brune: This armored archer pony expresses a lot of sympathy, but will it be a competitive card for the bloodiest challenges in the Splinterlands arena? Of the Water element, at level 1, it might be a bit below expectations, with only 2 Armor, Ranged, and a single ability, Amplify. However, at level 4, it gains another 3 abilities, bringing the total to 4, making it a card to consider in high mana challenges.

infernal firestorm.jpg

Infernal Firestorm: A Fire card with a cost of 10 Mana, already possessing the Flank ability, making it a contender for the Tank position even though it's not a monster with melee attack. It reaches 3 Magic at level 3 but gains only one more ability, Demoralize, at the last enhancement level, 6.

barashkukor.jpg

Barashkukor: Here's the heaviest of this series of heavyweights, and its illustration is one of the most iconic in the Rebellion series, featuring this anthropomorphic monster with an octopus head and arms. 5 magical attack and the Fury ability seem to justify its hefty cost of 13 mana, even though at level 1, it's a bit light on armor and health, with only 2 and 6 points, respectively. At levels 3 and 4, it becomes much more competitive, also acquiring the Weaken and Magic Reflect abilities, and increasing Armor and Health, thus protecting its duration on the battlefield.

Thanks for giving us an explanation of how these monsters work. I have been seeing so many people write about soulbonds these days.
Are you familiar with it? Can you please tell me what they are?

No doubt the monsters will help anyone who buys them win more battles in the Splinterlands game and I would say their price is fair compared to their effectiveness in the game. Thanks for presenting them to us. Have a nice day.
