Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Share Your Battle! (ENG/ITA)

Hello, all friends of Splinterlands!!!

With the exciting launch of the new card edition, Rebellion, Splinterlands players face a thrilling challenge in balancing the familiarity of old cards with the exciting experimentation of new monsters and abilities. The ability to wisely combine the knowledge acquired from previous cards with an openness to new strategies and synergies becomes crucial for success in arena battles.

The Rebellion edition brings new monsters with unique abilities that can radically change the course of a game. However, mastery of cards from previous editions remains crucial, as understanding dynamics and synergies among old cards can provide a significant strategic advantage.

That's exactly what we'll see today in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, which gives us the opportunity to share a battle of our choice.

For this post, I chose a challenge with Up, Close, and Personal, a battle with only Melee monsters. I selected one of the most effective summoners in this type of challenge: Possibilus the Wise, who, with buffs provided to teammates (Reach, Trample, and +2 Life), is one of the most enjoyable to use in these battles.

And these are the game rules:

A very high Mana Cap of 53 allows us to choose "heavy" monsters. In addition to Up, Close, and Personal, we have the Back to Basics ruleset, forcing us to deploy monsters with already high personal stats and rely on abilities granted by summoners. Also, the Holy Protection ruleset means a lengthy challenge as monsters will be well-protected.

And here's the battlefield:

This battle was very enjoyable for me because I chose powerful melee monsters that I often can't deploy all together. Starting with the Tank position, I placed Diemonshark in the first, Kulu Mastermind in the second, the evergreen Goblin Mech Bold in the third, Flying Squid in the fourth, a double-attack monster War Chaang in the fifth, and Deep Lurker in the last position, unfortunately unable to use its Opportunity ability and having to wait for its turn.

My opponent chose Valnamor as the summoner, deploying these monsters: The Kraken, Goblin Mech, Dumacke Orc, Frozen Soldier, Wave Runner, and Sea Monster.

A very long challenge, also thanks to the Holy Protection ruleset, lasting a whopping 12 rounds. However, by round 10, it was already clear how it would end. The two teams were well-balanced and strategically positioned, but my opponent's big mistake was choosing the wrong summoner.

Indeed, the +1 Magic from Valnamor went completely wasted, while the Reach and Trample abilities granted by Posibilus the Wise helped me have up to 3 monsters with active attack per round, inevitably leading to the final victory.

Con l'entusiasmante lancio della nuova edizione di carte, Rebellion, i giocatori di Splinterlands si trovano di fronte a una sfida avvincente nel bilanciare la familiarità delle vecchie carte con l'emozionante sperimentazione dei nuovi mostri e delle abilità appena introdotte: la capacità di combinare saggiamente la conoscenza acquisita delle carte precedenti con l'apertura a nuove strategie e sinergie diventa fondamentale per ottenere successo nelle battaglie dell'arena.

L'edizione Rebellion porta con sé nuovi mostri dotati di abilità uniche, che possono cambiare radicalmente il corso di una partita. Tuttavia, la padronanza delle carte delle edizioni precedenti rimane un aspetto cruciale, poiché la comprensione delle dinamiche e delle sinergie tra le vecchie carte può fornire un vantaggio strategico significativo.

Ed è proprio quello che vedremo oggi, nello Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, che ci da la possibilità di condividere una battaglia a nostra scelta.

Per questo post ho scelto una sfida con Up,Close and Personal, quindi una sfida con soli mostri Melee, ed ho scelto uno degli evocatori più performani in questo tipo di sfida: Possibilus the Wise, che con i buffs che offre ai compagni di squadra (Reach e Trample, oltre a +2 di Vita), è uno dei più divertenti da usare in questo tipo di battaglie.

E queste sono le regole del gioco:

Un Mana Cap molto alto di 53, che ci consente di scegliere mostri "pesanti", ed oltre a Up, Close e Personal, abbiamo il ruleset di Back to Basics, che ci costringe a schierare mostri che abbiano già delle stats personali molto alte, e ad affidarsi alle abilità donate dagli evocatori, e poi abbiamo il ruleset Holy Protection, quindi sarà una sfida bella lunga perchè i mostri saranno ben protetti.

Ed ecco il campo di battaglia:

Per me è stata molto divertente questa battaglia, perchè ho scelto dei mostri melee molto potenti che spesso non posso schierare tutti insieme: partendo dalla posizione Tank, ho messo Diemonshark, in seconda Kulu Mastermind, in terza il sempreverde Goblin MechBold, in quarta Flying Squid, in quinta ho messo un mostro con doppio attacco War Chaang, e in ultima posizione Deep Lurker, che purtroppo non può sfruttare la sua abilità Opportunity, ma dovrà aspettare il suo turno.

Il mio avversario ha scelto, invece, Valnamor come evocatore, schierando questi mostri: The Kraken, Goblin Mech, Dumacke Orc, Frozen Soldier, Wave Runner e Sea Monster.

Una sfida molto lunga , complice anche il ruleset Holy Protection, durata ben 12 Rounds, ma al round 10 si capiva già come sarebbe andata a finire: le due squadre erano molto equilibrate e ben schierata in campo, ma il grande errore del mio avversario è stato scegliere l'evocatore sbagliato.

Infatti, il +1 in Magia di Valnamor è andato completamente sprecato, mentre la abilità Reach e Trample donate da Posibilus the Wise mi hanno aiutato ad avere fino a 3 mostri con attacco attivo per round, arrivando inevitabilmente alla vittoria finale.
