Hello to all Splinterlands friends!!!

As I've mentioned several times in my posts, I am one of those players who started playing and collecting cards on Splinterlands since its inception in 2018. Seven years might be a relatively short period in everyday "real" life, but in the context of the digital world, especially in the realm of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, it can feel like an entirely different geological era, and many significant changes have taken place in the meantime.

I remember the tremendous hype generated for this game in those distant days of 2018. It was indeed a novelty to be able to participate in something similar to Magic the Gathering but with cards being actual NFTs owned by you, registered on a blockchain. In 2018, many of us were not yet aware of these NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), a concept probably introduced with CryptoKitties on the Ethereum blockchain. It gained fame around 2021, but not only collecting cards but also being able to play with them was a truly revolutionary novelty at the time.

Everyone was talking about it, and many of those I followed were proud to have bought all the monsters from the Alpha edition and even made some decent profits with the card trading. Splinterlands added a crucial factor - that of financial investment and the opportunity to earn by playing, a mechanism now fundamental in the crypto world known as Play2Earn (P2E).

We can say that Splinterlands is one of the first games to introduce this revolutionary concept, and this is one of the reasons for its tremendous success. Typically, when someone thinks of financial gains, we immediately think of a tedious 8-hour office job or a risky trading investment. Instead, with P2E, you can earn some money doing one of the most enjoyable things – playing your favorite game.

So, I told myself I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I went and bought many packs from the Alpha edition and managed to collect all the monsters from that edition. Many of these cards found a new job for me – I put them to work as "workers" on my Lands, helping me produce plenty of Grain and SPS for my chests!

This is another strength of Splinterlands - there are always exciting news and earning possibilities. It's a platform that never stays behind.

Come ho accennato varie volte nei miei post, io sono uno di quei giocatori che hanno iniziato a giocare e collezionare carte su Splinterlands fin dall'inizio nel 2018: 7 anni possono rappresentare un periodo relativamente breve nella vita "reale" di tutti i giorni, ma nel contesto del mondo digitale, soprattutto nell'ambito delle criptovalute e della tecnologia blockchain, possono corrispondere quasi ad a un'era geologica completamente diversa, e nel frattempo sono avvenuti molti cambiamenti significativi.

Mi ricordo il grandissimo Hype che si generò per questo gioco in quei lontani giorni del 2018, infatti era un novità assoluta poter partecipare a un qualcosa simile a Magic the Gathering, ma dove le carte sono dei veri e propri NTF di tua proprietà, registrati su di una blockchain: nel 2018 molti d noi non erano ancora a conoscenza di questi NFT (Non Fungibile Tokens), è un concetto che è stato introdotto probabilmente con i CryptoKitties su blockchain Ethereum, ed ha avuto un'esplosione di fama verso il 2021, però , non solo collezionare delle carte, ma addirittura poterci giocare era una novità assolutamente rivoluzionaria per il tempo.

Ne parlavano tutti gli account, e molti di quelli che seguivo io, si vantavano di aver comprato tutti i mostri dell'edizione Alpha, e di aver fatto anche dei bei guadagni con le compravendita delle carte: ecco che su Splinterlands si aggiungeva un fattore molto importante, quello dell'investimento economico, e della possibilità di guadagnare giocando, quel meccanismo , ormai fondamentale nel mondo crypto, di Play2Earn (P2E).

Possiamo dire che Splinterlands è un dei primi giochi che ha introdotto questo concetto rivoluzionario, ed è questo uno dei motivi del suo grande successo: di solito quando qualcuno pensa ad un guadagno finanziario, pensiamo subito ad un noiosissimo lavoro di 8 ore in ufficio, oppure ad un rischiosissimo investimento di trading, invece con il P2E puoi fare qualche soldo con una delle cose più divertenti, giocando al tuo gioco preferito.

Allora anch'io dissi a me stesso che non volevo perdere l'occasione, e andai a comprare molti pacchetti dell'edizione Alpha, ed arrivai a collezionare tutti i mostri di quella edizione: molte di queste care hanno trovato un nuovo lavoro per me, infatti le ho messe come "workers" sulle mie Lands, e mi aiutano a produrre tanto Grain e Sps per le mie casse !!!

Questo è un altro punto di forza di Splinterlands: che ci sono sempre grandi novità e possibilità di guadagno, è una piattaforma che non rimane mai indietro.
