The drawing represents the moment when Jesus is presented to the crowd by Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea.

With a look full of brilliance as he raises his prayers before the hostile crowd to which he was handed over.

“Then the governor's soldiers brought Jesus into the praetorium, and gathered the whole company around him; and stripping him, they put a scarlet robe on him, and put on his head a crown woven of thorns, and a reed in his right hand; and kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying: Hail, King of the Jews!

“And spitting on him, they took the reed and struck him on the head” Matthew 27:27-30

Words of the Author: I am quite respectful of all beliefs and religions, so when one assumes the challenge of representing themes related to faith, one does so from the perspective of respect for the other and trying to understand their vision and sense of faith.

In particular, any work related to Jesus Christ seems to me to be extremely complex, whether it is a representation of Christ on the Cross or any other scene from his life.

This drawing of Jesus Christ crowned with thorns is a quite romantic version of that moment, since I have not drawn much blood on it, and I have not bruised it either, usually when I make drawings alluding to this moment I like to load it with real aspects, it is I mean, I try to draw pictures with a wounded Face. This is not the case, I hope you like my humble representation.
