# Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 2 Report Card

@heroldius

Seasons follow each other and they look the same. I'm still in Diamond II, I can't make it to the top Diamond I tier and this time I was more than 100 points short, not just 2 like the previous season. But I don't despair... 😀

The win ratio increased but at the end of the season I didn't even try to play a game after another to try to reach Diamond I. I saw right away that it was out of reach, and that I was going to get mad at my screen for nothing. I saw right away that it was out of reach, and that I was going to get mad at my screen for nothing. But I did 202 fights anyway. The new system really forces you to play more... And it doesn't pay off, as you will see in the next section.

In terms of rewards, this season is to be forgotten. Only 37 cards obtained no gold foil but fortunately one legendary (Harklaw value of 0.95$, yeah). Even for DEC, I got less than half of them compared to the previous season (6176 instead of 13184). Luckily I got some Chaos packs but they didn't give much, only one card worth 1 summoner.

With the new system, this is the only part that has increased thanks to the bots that have to rent cards to exist. I really need to get motivated to manage the rentals because I have a lot of cards sitting around that aren't doing me much good. I'll try to manage it all with Peaks, I've read some useful posts about it. Just need to find the motivation.

A season without great results and little reward... I hope to make up for it with this new season.
And on your side, good season? Have you adjusted to the Focus system?

Last season I was feeling good. I was in a lower league and got lots of chests. Finished in a higher league and now this season is brutal. In higher league chests are coming very slow, and victories too. Not even back to the league I finished in last season and the season is half over.

In higher leagues, it seems more complicated to have great rewards. You have to play a lot in order to have chests. I hope this will not discourage real players.

I still haven't adjusted to the focus system other than to say I just don't play as much any more. On my worst days I don't get a single chest, and very often only get one so I can contribute a scroll to my guild's advancement. If I'm lucky, and get a dragon or death quest (my two favorite splinters) more frequently, I can almost get decent rewards, compared to life before the new system, but I usually don't luck up enough to get them frequently enough to make up enough ground to get close to the highs I've gotten in the past.

Honestly, the new focus system has really accelerated the burnout I've been struggling with since land wasn't released on time. There's a good chance, if the market wasn't wrecked, I'd sell most of my assets and be done with it from a gaming perspective, other than the bare minimum needed to support my guild. I hope it's just a passing phase/funk.

It's pretty much the same for me... I'm looking forward to the lands (hoping I won't be disappointed but considering the wait, it should be worth it, "always look the bright side of life"). But it's true that I preferred the old system with sometimes 5 fights to open 10 chests. Keep the faith 😀

I'm trying, but I'm pretty discouraged. I appreciate a lot of the changes from an investor perspective. It makes sense to encourage people to play more, but I'd rather play more because I'm having fun rather than because I'm obligated to in order to achieve the same, or in some cases, less return.

It feels like it's beginning to rely too heavily on the principles of promoting and maintaining a gambling addiction, and that's becoming more apparent to me in this latest update. Since day one, I've felt like I was chasing a dragon, but I did have days I caught it, or, probably more accurately, came close enough to scratch the itch, so to speak, whereas now it feels like said dragon has such a head start I'm only running harder just to keep it in sight. Whether the numbers pan out in the long term or not, it still feels like I'm working harder for less and that's put a barrier between me and the joy I legitimately get from playing.
