What I would like to know is from the splintertalk platform can I make both HIVE and SPT from curating or do I need to use a different platform to earn HIVE?

As per my friend who plays Splinterlands, Yes, you can earn both hive and spt (only if you are using splintertalk or use the #splinterlands if you are in the hive platform - peakd.com or hive.blog), so you dont need to use a different platform to earn either.

Also, as long as the person who votes your blog or posts have both hive and spt staked, then you earn both tokens.
