Splinterlands Pizza 1 Brawl Report #5 - 01/15/2022

PIZZA 1 The Stuffed Crust Brawl battle. Once again this is battles on A/B novice fray. So as usual, rented most of the A/B card but this time, I was not able to rent Valnamor as the rental price was too high being in end of season so no legendary summoner this time.

First battle.

Rule: Explosive Weaponry(blast), Heavy hitters(knockout)
Mana: 50
Splinters: Water, Earth, Life, Dragon
Battle: Watch battle

Naga warrior for tank and chance of retaliate which will also trigger blast. Gladiator Relenor Cleaver at 2nd pos for damage and armor. Peaceful giant for blast damage. And the rest are damagers.

First round ended, where my tank and Water elemental died. while mine only killed his tank. I was unfortunate that Retaliate did not trigger so my plan did not end well. His Gladiator Katrelba Gobson managed to kill my Water Elemental in a single round thus gaining him a bloodlust charge. Me putting Peaceful Giant pays off as it managed be a punching bag for his snipe monsters though. The last attack comes from my Gladiator and it Missed!!!. I guess this really some bad luck considering that there is only a 2 speed diff.

The miss from the previous round really dealt a big damage on my side which result to my LOSS. Better luck next time.

Second Battle

Rule: Broken Arrows (no range)
Mana: 20
Splinters: Fire, Life, Dragon
Battle: Watch Battle

This was a low mana battle and decided to go with sneaks. Cerberus as tank, added Grumpy Drawf for 2nd pos, which was chosen due to the excess mana and his 1 armor. Goblin shaman for Weaken to increase my chances of one hitting the opponents backline. And my gladiator this time Orella Abadon and the rest were sneak monsters.

The first round ended well with 3 speed of my gladiator, I was able to attack first and kill his Goblin shaman on the first attack. The first round ended with only his Giant Roc remaining.

At the last round, My gladiator attacked first and killed his remaining monster which gave me a WIN for this match.

Third Battle

Rule: Holy Protection (divine shield), Equalizer (same HP)
Mana: 38
Splinters: Water, Life
Battle: Watch Battle

This time I decided to focus my attack on the front because of the ruleset. Attacking on different different monsters will just waste a single round and make it longer to kill a monster. Naga Warrior for my tank - with retaliate I can break the divine shield, followed by Gladiator Relenor Cleaver. The rest are magic monsters, with enchanted pixie at the back in case there are sneak monsters in play.

Naga Warrior's retaliate triggered for the first round but it MISSED!, I guess this is really not my luck. First round ended in all attacks focused on the tanks thus resulting in both of our tanks death.

The next few rounds, we're both hitting the first position, both our gladiators did not do anything for this match. I guess gladiators does not do well in this combination of ruleset.

It reached the sixth round with only his Water Elemental remaining which helped me secure the WIN.

Thoughts

I really don't like Katrelba Gobson at first due to his low speed, but combining him with Prince Rennyn really makes hime a good killer, where every bloodlust will increase his overall damage by 2. I've used him on my first brawl battles but he often misses that is why I stopped using him. Maybe my luck was really bad at this game LOL.

End Result

By end of the brawl, I've managed to get 1669 merits which allows me to purchase one more Gladius pack. Pizza 1 guild also Rank #1 for this brawl.
