I think it's easier to accumelate HP when the price of HIVE is low. You'll get less HBD but more votes because some people vote with higher VP percentages when the price is low.
That's the only idea that keeps me active when the price is only $0.26. !LUV
I think the best way to accumulate HP regardless of price is to find a good community that rewards it members. Right now, the only good community and platform that is not biased in giving upvote is Splinterlands community. One strategy that I also find useful is using a platform that has many users like PeakD. the chances of your post getting discovered is much higher.

I agree about finding a good community. It's okay for the community to be a bit biased, just be on their good side while you're there.
I'm currently with the @dreemport community. Its way of working is a bit different compared to other ones. It feels more like family, in a way.
