Splinterlands Art Contest Week 250!: Nerissa Tridawn

Hi, guys! Welcome back to my corner. Yesterday, I was thinking about which character I should draw for the next Splinterlands Art Contest.

I wasn't satisfied with my previous work. I don't know if I'm really not that good or if my skills just turned rusty because I haven't drawn for a while. So, yesterday while I was in bed, I decided to watch some YouTube drawing tutorials and applied them to my entry for this week.

My entry for this week's art contest is none other than Nerissa Tridawn, a muscular woman who is like an Amazon.

Nerissa is an Epic water element with no special ability but has a strong magic attack and a huge life.

Step 1:
I downloaded Nerissa's image from Splinterlands.com for reference.

Step 2:
I created a draft of how I want Nerissa to appear. The problem is Nerissa's reference image is not a whole body, so I need to think of how she would look in full body.

The first draft is the pose.

The second draft is the figure.

Then I added some muscles

Then I drew the hair

Then the armor, clothes, and weapon.

The I finalized the outline

Yes, I draw like that. It is easier for me to draw in layers when sketching so I can visualize the image more clearly.

Step 3:
I added base colors. These colors are on separate layers so that I don't overlap any colors.

Step 4:
I started shading on the base colors. To shade the colors, I duplicated the original and activated the clipping. I always do this so in case something goes wrong, I can easily restore the original.

Step 5:
I drew the background. I decided to make it a wave of water since Nerissa is a water element.

Step 6:
I colored the background. I'm not good with backgrounds, but I really tried my best here.

Step 7:
I added some effects like plastic wrap and reflected her image on the water
