Hello Splinterfam! Welcome to my first ever post doing the battle mage secrets weekly challenge. For this week, Our featured ruleset is little league, which means only units and summoners with a mana cost of 4 or less may be used in battle. In this post, I will be featuring mostly soulbound cards abilities mainly the "Martyr" and "Swiftness".

I'm currently playing in bronze league and after patch and implementation of the proposal "no bots in modern", life gets happier than ever! as to why? The reason for this will be found in the post below. Let's get started.

In bronze, mostly the ruleset will just be as standard as it gets. And so its likely you need to mostly perfectly calculate every attack that your monsters will make per turn as its very crucial and a one miss attack, speed difference, or even a single ability will dictate the outcome of the battle.

First of all I tend to predict what my opponents team would be like. Since there is no earth element to use which consist of magic and focus fire, I predicted that he will use opportunity and sneak monsters as fire and life element has a lot of it.

My plan is to have my main tank the Xenith monk gets the buff from the new soulbound Venari marksrat's ability the "martyr" and for his attacks to be scattered and not to be focused on a single monster. As you have noticed I field in Halving alchemist and clockwork aide. With both 1 health, opportunity monsters will attack halving alchemist first while sneak monsters will have a huge problem breaking that shield of clockwork aide and with the help of Lorna shines ability "divine shield", negating the first attack from the opponent monster.

With the help of time mage's slow and clockwork's swiftness, opponent monsters will have a hard time hitting my team monsters. And lastly there's Venari Crystalsmith just in case they wanna burst down my tank. Her heal might also be a game changer if things go south.

And so it begins as I hit the Rumble button. My opponent chose opportunity and sneak monsters as I predicted and basically scattered his attack turns in round 1. Marksrat has served his purpose in life (R.I.P.) and buffed Xenith monk at the start of round 2. Xenith Monk still got the divine shield together with crystalsmith, All monsters have negated 1 attack hit from my opponent by this time.

round 3.png

In the middle of round 3, his main tank perished and because of the speed difference, most of his attacks missed as planned.

round 4.png

At the start of round 4, his team composition is starting to wither now and with no decent tank, the outcome is nearing end.

round 5.png

He actually managed to take down my Halving Alchemist and Clockwork Aide but all is planned as I have now achieved my goal and that is to waste his precious attacks and save my core monsters till the end.

round 6.png

Its finally nearing the end as his Serpentine spy is taken down. Buffed Xenith Monk and crystalsmith can sustain it now.

round 9.png

And I take the Victory at round 9 and the best part as to why I'm happy is getting a juicy Sps after a win and in bronze league at that! GG's well-played my worthy opponent.

conclusion resize.gif

  • Lorna shine's Divine ability is really good when opponents attack is scattered.
  • Marksrat's Martyr ability is for me the new Meta in bronze league right now.
  • Speed Difference plays a big part in battles, 1 missed attack can be the deciding factor.
