The new WATER Reward Cards!

Pelacor Bandit, Sabre Shark of the Skies

One of the cheapest cards new Water reward cards, but deceptively powerful, this is Water's new go-to sneak attacker, and the shining star that may make Water Melee a very problematic playstyle in Modern format, and definitely makes it viable in Wild.

He has Sneak, Flying, 6 Speed, 4 Damage, and 5 Health at max. With a Daria and a Demented Shark, he has 6 Melee. That is an INSANE damage output for a 3 mana card. This is a Sandworm in disguise!

Right now he's currently sitting at about $0.13 per BCX, making him a great option to Level, at least to Level 4, where he gets +1 Melee and a significant up in use-case for Silver. IMO he is just "OK" in Bronze, and really has a significant boost in usage from Silver on.

He's also the Water card I want to level most. You heard me, I want to level this Water Common more than Oshannus. I didn't stutter and I'm 100% serious.

Venari Wavesmith, Possibly the Avatar?

Pelacor Bandit may be THE Card I want to upgrade, but this is THE card I want the MOST at Level 1, narrowly beating Harklaw.

With 1 Magic, 2 Speed, 3 Health, and Protect at 5 Mana cost, she is an absolute blessing to the Water Splinter and an absolute staple even at Level 1. She doesn't power creep as hard as Pelacor does in Silver, but she is still ridiculously powerful to begin with, and IMO stronger than Pelacor even at Lv. 1.

This card is the new key support for Water, rivaling Kelp Initiate in usefulness, but for the Bronze level, where Kelp Initiate's use-case is limited to fleshy health bag in the front. (I love Kelp Initiate guys this isn't hate I swear don't kill me)

She costs about $2.20 right now per BCX, making her more expensive than any new epic just let that sink in for a bit.

Oshannus, Kron's Aquatic Twin who Stomps him.

Oshannus is seen as somewhat underwhelming at Level 1, but still a very powerful card. Many complain that a legendary has Unicorn Mustang's stats and abilities, but fail to recognize that his magic damage type gives him a significant advantage to begin with.

They also seem to fail to realize his Phase and Forcefield will make him one of the most problematic tanks in the game to deal with, not quite on par with Almo IMO, but within throwing distance. His versatility is his strength here, able to be a backline OR frontline tank due to his Magic damage.

At $23 per BCX, He's the most expensive Legendary and new Reward card available, and you can easily see why looking at his higher levels.

Which card is your favorite?

Adding in a spot here from now on, my favorite is actually Oshannus. I need to upgrade Pelacor, and I need to get a Lv. 1 of Venari Wavesmith, but Oshannus has excellent art and looks and feels powerful and like a Legendary. When I first saw him I was like that's just a skin for Poseidon that's better in everyway.

What a great post! I especially think that Pelacor Bandit is underrated-- that 4 attack for 3 mana at top levels is spicy. I'm hoping for more water melee support in the future as well. Here's hoping!!!

I was eagarly awaiting your water reward review! Big fan of the Oshannus and his counter llama/kron status.

I've only had a chance to get Pelacor Bandit so far and he fits nicely in my Bortus lineup if as 4th or 5th priority if mana allows.
