Water Caller - Social Media Challenge
Hello everyone, this time I want to show you a fanart I made for the weekly challenge of Splinterlands, the card I selected this time is called Water Caller, but the name of the character that appears is called Gwen Stormsong, the character design I liked a lot and I wanted to make it as a portrait, this is a water splinter card of the new edition called Riftwatchers.
In the elaboration of this drawing, I was looking for a reference that could unite the characteristics of this character, in the following text I give you the lore of this card which is the following:
Hola a todos, en esta ocasión les quiero enseñar un fanart que hice para el desafió semanal de Splinterlands, la carta que seleccione en esta ocasión tiene como nombre Water Caller, pero el nombre del personaje que aparece se llama Gwen Stormsong, el diseño del personaje me gusto mucho y lo quise realizar como un retrato, esta es una carta del splinter de agua de la nueva edicion llamada Riftwatchers
En la elaboración de este dibujo, estuve buscando una referencia que pudiera unir las caracteristicas de este personaje, en el siguiente texto les voy el lore de esta cartas que es la siguiente:
Gwen Stormsong was born and raised on the aquatic realm of Lemell. From an early age, she had a strong connection to the elemental mana of water. To foster her abilities, her parents sent her to train with the druids of Lemell. Gwen spent her formative years on the water, learning how to channel its power. While some druids specialized in offensive spells, Gwen preferred to use her powers to help others.
When a great hole ripped the sky open and tentacles slithered forth, chaos swept across the land, decimating cities and the landscape. And after the dark god drained the realm of mana and the Chaos Legion moved on to its next conquest, Lemell was a very different place. Nearly all life had been wiped out. The landscape was destroyed. Everything Gwen loved was gone.
She traveled by boat across the island and archipelagos, searching for survivors. She joined a handful of refugees who had survived, hidden in the caves of a craggy atoll. Gwen was devastated and spent many days in a deep depression, barely eating and hardly sleeping.
Gwen Stormsong nació y creció en el reino acuático de Lemell. Desde temprana edad, tuvo una fuerte conexión con el maná elemental del agua. Para fomentar sus habilidades, sus padres la enviaron a entrenar con los druidas de Lemell. Gwen pasó sus años formativos en el agua, aprendiendo a canalizar su poder. Mientras que algunos druidas se especializaban en hechizos ofensivos, Gwen prefería usar sus poderes para ayudar a otros.
Cuando un gran agujero abrió el cielo y los tentáculos se deslizaron, el caos se extendió por la tierra, diezmando las ciudades y el paisaje. Y después de que el dios oscuro agotó el maná del reino y la Legión del Caos pasó a su próxima conquista, Lemell era un lugar muy diferente. Casi toda la vida había sido eliminada. El paisaje fue destruido. Todo lo que Gwen amaba se había ido.
Viajó en barco por la isla y los archipiélagos en busca de supervivientes. Se unió a un puñado de refugiados que habían sobrevivido, escondidos en las cuevas de un atolón escarpado. Gwen estaba devastada y pasó muchos días en una profunda depresión, apenas comía y apenas dormía.
Process
Once I found the right reference for the creation of this character from this moment on I was placing the characteristics of the character, having all these key points I started with the sketch of the character making several guide lines to locate all the necessary elements.
Una vez encontrado la referencia adecuada para la creación de este personaje a partir de este momento le fui colocando las caracteristicas del personaje, teniendo todos estos puntos claves empece con el boceto del personaje haciendo varias lineas guías para ir ubicando todos los elementos necesarios.
In this step I continued with the color application, in which I applied a color palette according to that of the character.
En este paso seguí con la aplicación de color,en la cual aplique una paleta de color de acuerdo con la del personaje.
