Aim True - A ruleset in Splinterlands that does not matter that much?

Dear readers even in my series of posts we are in the ever-changing void of the current state Splinterlands finds itself in ;)

-Why? The Splinterlands ended its years long curation challenge of share-your-battle with focus on units and instead chose a focus on rulesets. So this is where we will start today.

There are more things to say about the 'void of Splinterlands', but I will probably come back to this later this week as I still got a second entry option for curation as my last entry unfortunately did not get curated as there was some confusion about their timeline of "(Monday at 12 pm CDT)".
If you happen to read this and know the answer: Is "CDT" short for "Central Daylight Time" as my time converter suggests?

I do not really have a handle on reviewing the different weekly topics, so I will just start straight from the heart.

I suppose I will recap the week's ruleset here: "Aim True"

"Description: Melee and ranged attacks will always hit their target.
Note: This applies to magic attacks as well even if there is a phase monster."

And then I will probably start straight from the heart writing my thoughts on this week's ruleset.

I think 'Aim True' is a bit of a 'nice to know' kind of ruleset which to me means it does not have much of an importance for a lot of battles.
In general I think this ruleset gives a bit of benefit to 'Melee' and 'Ranged' attack units. However even if they benefit it is not like they would gain an advantage the 'Magic' attack would not already have.

So let us look at one of my battles this week that included this ruleset:

So yes! As you can see both me and my opponent did not really see the benefit of this ruleset and both went with a magic setup.

Not too surprisingly considering having the same unit with 'Taunt' ability the first round went very similar for both of us.

However when Mycelic Slipspawns were gone the Mustang made the difference...

...and guess who won? -YES! NOT the jdike ;)

And then I think I could here reconsider my initial thoughts on the given ruleset.
But this week I will not! I still think that 'Aim True' is probably more often than not a set of less importance in lower leagues. Because I do not see a point where I could have taken advantage of the ruleset prior to knowing my opponent's setup. -Neither did my opponent and therefore probably went with a magic damage setup.
