SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE.png

Good Day Everyone, its me again @jeffqt and I'm a @Splinterlands player and I'm bullish for the future of Splinterlands. I'm also blogging content for the game like game battles, strategies and also what is happening to the game from Splinterlands Townhall and announcement. Join me for this "Social Media Challenge" and let's talk about the latest Splinterlands announcement which is "Staff Reductions and Restructuring".

WHAT'S NEW

Staff Reduction:

Although this is the second time that the company have lessen their employees because of the "Bear Market". It is understandable but this means lesser employees will be more work for those who stayed. The question is will the game be as smooth as before like the ranked battles, tournaments and brawls.

In addition, I would like to give "Thanks" to those staff that are being departed from the company and hoping you could start a new beginning. Hopefully when "Bullrun" comes you will be hired again. Don't forget to spread the game to your new community for the game to attract new players.

Do they still work on marketing the game?
They could have allocate enough assets for the marketing because of the Staff Reduction.

Restructuring:

  • Splitting Out Non-Splinterlands Products

Steem Monsters Corp. will be focusing only on Splinterlands and Soulkeep. Like the game developer said in the announcement Splitting out the organization in this way will allow for each of the companies to have their own separate funds, sources of capital, and leadership teams that can focus their full time and attention on their product lines. Which is true, if an organization is focused in one thing without any distractions or when time is not split out with another work the goal will be achieved faster and smoother because of the focused work.

  • Long Term Focus

It's good that they are now on the long term sustainability for the game not just that short term revenue. They also said that they will raise an investment capital for the business which is good for the sustainability of the game. For the "Staff Reduction and Restructuring" this is a great move for them to accomplish what's in the roadmap without any distractions and split of assets to other organization. This will be a big change to the organization and lets give them time to catch up from behind.

Rebellion:

Rebellion may come on the end of the year. This is a new set of cards that will be introduced in the game. This also will replace the Untamed Cards set in the modern league which is a significant change in the game. Why? there could be a new meta that will be develop because of the Untamed cards will be moved from modern to wild league which is known to have an overpowered summoners and monsters. So lets wait for that big change in the modern league.

In addition, to this statement from the announcement ~We plan to propose that the Rebellion set be owned and sold by the SPS DAO rather than the Splinterlands company (similar to Riftwatchers), and in return we will ask that the DAO hire Steem Monsters Corp. to develop and distribute the packs through the Splinterlands game platform. This will mark a major milestone in our long term goal of allowing the player community to not just own the assets in the game - but to actually own the game itself.

In order to do this, I plan to submit an SPS governance proposal in the near future asking the DAO to pay Steem Monsters Corp. $250,000 in USDT/USDC from its treasury to fund the initial development of Rebellion and for the DAO to split all revenue from Rebellion pack sales 50/50 with Steem Monsters Corp. in order to fund the continued development and operation of the Splinterlands game platform going forward. This would mean that half of all Rebellion pack sale proceeds go to the DAO (in DEC) instead of everything going to the Splinterlands company as has been the case in the past.

As you can imagine, if approved by the staked SPS token holders, this could potentially lead to millions of dollars worth of DEC going to the DAO and being taken out of circulation over the life of the set, which I expect will help put both the community and the company in a much better position in the future.

Let's vote for this upcoming proposal and trust the new Restructured Organization. Again, I'm not encouraging you to just vote lets do have some research and foresee the outcome this upcoming proposal.

Thank you guys for reading this and I hope I bring you a good content for this "Social Media Challenge" See you again next time for another Splinterlands Content and other Contents in the Hive Community. See Yah!!!❤️💛💚

Some interesting ideas. I would prefer if their team focused on the Splinterlands dApp instead of spreading itself so thin with so many projects and having to depend on a 3rd party market to get the Rebellion card series available (If I am understanding that part correctly).

It's still early in the Web 3 space and I hope Splinterlands continues being a dApp worth supporting for the long time fans of the community and new players.

Thanks for sharing the overview and your thoughts regarding Splinterlands latest post. It was rough to read but I understand why it had to be done.
