Hey @terganftp I didn't run from the community.

If you noticed, I wasn't writing much apart from my actifit report.

But I am glad to make an entry to this week's topic “Online Shopping”.

I am not really a fan of buying things online, but I use the online shopping price tag as reference, whenever I want to buy something new.

I love it when I go to the market, bargain or pick up something (both for street market or supermarket), pay for it and go with it.

A friend of mine always gives her reasons for online shopping to be the excitement of expecting something.

She always illustrates with

you know when your parents promise to buy you something as a child, you already picture it without seeing it physically.
Then, when it finally comes….yes that excitement…. that's it.

Her excitement is unlimited 😂

After hearing this, I decided to give another try after receiving a none satisfactory online product.

A friend of mine started selling bags online.
She added me to the store group, where the bags are so beautiful and affordable.
I decided to give it a try and as well patronize my friend.

I quickly ordered for one, out of the samples she sent.

the ready and available for pickup.

I know why I picked the available one because I didn't want many delays and I wanted to travel the next week.

She promised to send it to me the next day, which I didn't receive.

I was patient enough to give her more days......three days gone, I didn't receive anything.

Then, I called her letting her know about my travel plans and I wouldn't mind coming down to her house to pick it.

That was when she told me, she was expecting to receive the goods days back.
What?!
Until now, I am yet to receive my online ordered bag.

I haven't had a pleasant online shopping experience so far.
And, seriously, I am not trying it again.

I pay and collect as seen, no wait, no stories, no disappointments.

There are lots of online shopping stores here in my country.

Ranging from the popular ones like JumiaNg,Jiji Nigeria, Konga and Kara to the less popular individual ones.

Mostly, you pay for shipping fees and have it delivered to any location of your choice.

My favorite is JumiaNg, like I said, I mostly use this for price reference.
Occasionally an interesting Black Friday offer will trigger me to place an order.

The only thing I have against them in some cases of “the more you look, the less you see” kind of products.

Or “what you ordered vs. what you got”.
This is when you get something that didn't meet your expectations.

When it comes to food. I haven't tried online order too.
I just walk to the place, and place my order.

Crazy things do happen in my country 😅
So, I can't order food online.
That doesn't mean as seen is more healthy and safer.
But the mentality and the previous stories have clouded my judgement.

From the little ones I have seen, online shopping is stress-free, which you will get to pay for in its fees.

At first, you won't notice how expensive the product is, until when you pay for its delivery and commission fees.

Which in most cases you pay online before they send your product.

Heard some go with the 60% online pay before delivery, which is rare.

That is so interesting. Yes, online shopping can really make things easy, but also could make you spend more than you should since it is so easy. A double-edged sword.

Sorry to hear that your online shopping experience didn't end well. Personally I try to shop locally whenever possible to support local businesses, however, sometimes there are things that I just can't buy locally. Like when I was in the Philippines last month....I tried all day to buy beans in the local markets (soya beans, kidney beans, green peas and more). No beans available so I had to order online :)

Omo, you be Owo Nigeria. A lot is happening but I tell you online she is sweet. Stress free, nope, cheap, nope, convinent,yes. But as you said, pray to get what you paid for.

The occurrence of what you ordered vs what you get always makes online shopping scaring.
In fact, many people have lost lot of funds daily because of online scammers.
I believe that one should have a good guidelines before deciding to dive into any

If your friend could not be honest enough to tell the situation on ground, how would you trust unknown online vendors...I get you jare😀

I can consider myself fortunate to have had little to no bad online experience. I shop once a while. My major fear then was the "what I ordered vs what I got" but it's not been so bad. Physical purchases still hits better depending on what one is getting.
You can't always trust these sites.

Experience teaches a lot. Sorry for the unsatisfactory experience. For me, I can say I lost count of things I bou online using jumia.com and its delivered to my house, may be I am lucky.

Sorry about your experience, I understand those set of people, they are usually resellers who post other peoples goods to make some profit for themselves on the sales.
I am very careful and mindful when making purchase online...

I totally understand your friends enthusiasm about online purchases and can actually relate with that. Only that I try to make enough enquires in order not to get an undesired product upon delivery.

I'm with you on not being a fan of online shopping. I only buy things online that I can't easily find locally.

I like your use of online prices as a reference so that you can better bargain locally! That's a great idea!

I know what you mean wholly. I have fallen into the trap of a lower quality product in comparison to what you see not to mention the high prices that comes from logistics. Sorry about the poor service receptions from vendors you thought you could trust. 💕✨

Thanks for the response. Sorry to hear that you got ripped off in previous purchases. Always sucks whne that happens. I'm working on figuring out a way that the Earn Spend Give community can make some sales through HIVE. Currently looking into selling cellular data but also looking at other electronic goods and stuff like that also. Making sure people NEVER get ripped off is something that is important to me. I'm thinking maybe ship first and then get payment once the item arrives. Sure there is the possibility that I don't get paid....but the nice thing on HIVE is that I get to know people before I send anything....and I can only send to people I trust :)

Which is pretty much every person in the #earn spend give community.

Online shopping for me is really cool. It saves one the stress of going in to shop. I quite agree that sometimes things can get the other way but the positives outweighs the negatives.

I've tried online shopping 🛒 most times. Although I also buy your idea of move in, pay and collect, a case of cash and carry stuff. But online shopping can also be nice in some cases.
