I did too for a long time, only recently did I start again with Foundations since the cards come free to start out. Then you win cards and packs to level up along the way.

I am playing less in Modern, and more in Frontier. The SPS rewards aren't very high as I only earn a few SPS. I earn more SPS from brawls compared to Modern.
