Splinterlands: Back In Business With Rebellion

The saturation of the rebellion cards in the splinterlands market is upon us. I currently play in the wild format, and so far I have not seen anyone use these cards to compete. (not that I expect, because I know it might take a while) I don't know if it's because it's only playable in modern for now. However, it's a sigh of relief for me, and this is because of the outrage and quality that these rebellion cards may potentially have.

Again the splinterlands' in-game ecosystem will be rearranged within the next 8 months to one year, and those who have managed to stick their deck with these new cards might dominate the game for a very long time. For someone who bought only four packs, I'm not eager to begin to compete with these new set of monsters, but because I no longer play in modern, I think I might be safe for just a little while.

For a very long time, splinterlands is in business again.

No one is complaining about the price of SPS or DEC, the narrative seems to have shifted and the new CEO seems to have been up and doing. However, this generation of cards has some tokenomics in place to prevent excessive saturation and more hodl incentive. So I believe it'll be easier for it to maintain good value over a long period.

This might mean that we might never unbound the soulbound cards, because doing so might create selling pressure. So I don't think Splinterlands will do this. Rather, the cards will only be there to aid in-game play and never hold any futuristic dollar value, fair enough. So back to Rebellion, a lot of people are already beginning to open these packs. Of course, the excitement of knowing whether you've hit a jackpot or not.

So far, some people have been lucky, and some others have been disappointed, especially those who expected to get those incredible legendaries

It's still early though

I feel that it might take a while for these cards to completely saturate the market, and for the next two to 3 months we will see an experimental phase. This phase is where the best rebellion cards will be known, and for this to happen, I feel that there's going to be a complete testing of all the cards to know which ones are valuable in-game and the economically valuable ones.

Of course, epics and legendaries are always the most valuable cards in the game, but there might be some exceptions for some cards that are rare as well.

For now, I don't think anyone has established which card is valuable and which isn't. Infact, it will take a couple of months for players to find a synergy when playing with the new cards. This is because they come with new abilities and this takes time to master. One thing I know is that some people who invested heavily in packs will make profit.

This might not happen in 2023, it might take them till the end of 2024 before they realize they're in profit, especially if they are lucky enough to get summoners and cards with the new abilities.

One of the advantages of heavily investing in rebellion is the more than 50% chance of being in life-changing profit with the inception of the bull run, and while it might not seem so at the moment, the market will eventually reshuffle itself. For now, the market will dictate the value of these cards, and overtime we will truly know where the money lies.
