Hey Guys, its time to give the results of our guild brawl last Feb. 09, 2022. I'll also show my brawl battles so you can watch it as well. If you want to check my previous post about why you need to join guild brawls, check this link

It was a close fight against ALPHA guild. We are leading by 1 win within the last 5 mins before the brawl ends. It so happened that they managed to outscore us by 2 wins after all pending matches were counted.

The MVP of this brawl were @olaf.gui and @jellyandbeeans. They almost got undefeated with their frays, while yours truly got away with 5 wins and 2 loses.

And of course brawl is always a team effort, kudos also to these guys @jsundy @papar @haru-munyaa @rheyniel19 @nothan01 @scroff @ruiner7

Post Match Analysis

Now, let's check my matches and do some post-analysis.

Match1: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_JwEQx4nLJkn6XzIioO64&ref=jpleron
It was the closest match I ever had in guild brawl. My heart was really beating fast while I watched it. I managed to survive the attacks from my opponent's monsters with the help of Bloodlust. Whew... That's one good example why Bloodlust is OP in brawl.

With only 3 Splinters available (Fire, Death, and Life), both of us chose Tarsa from Fire as the Summoner. This is to utilize the ruleset which provides Enrage ability to all monsters. With all monsters having enrage, it is best to use melee monsters as it greatly benefits both from increase damage and speed.

EnrageIt increases the Melee attack and Speed when a monster receives a damaged. The increase stats is equal to 1.5x the stat (rounded up). The added stat will be remove when you regen your HP to max thru Heal or Tank Heal

At round 2, it was down to a 6 vs 1 against my CHIMNEY WALLSTOP (Gladius). CHIMNEY WALLSTOP was able to kill all 6 of them and stack upto 17 melee damage at the end of the match (excluding the last stack from killing the last enemy). Again, 17 melee damage dealt to Tenyi Striker!!!

CHIMNEY WALLSTOP is good choice to act as your secondary tank. It has Reach ability so it can attack even at the 2nd position. Since it has a default armor at its initial level, triggering Bloodlust will add +1 stats to all including the armor. There are some monsters that do not have armor by default, and when Bloodlust triggers it will only add HP, attack damage (melee, ranged, or magic) and Speed. It won't add armor when you dont have one initially.

It was also a close match. Maybe if I didn't forget to include Furious Chicken I might be able to survive until fatigue comes and win it through hp regen. I was planning to out heal the damage from both earthquake and attacks from opponent's monster with 2 heals. Byzantine Kitty and Cornealus can heal 4 HP, equivalent to 8 HP regen per round. That should be enough to sustain the damage from Manticore (3), Screeching Vulture (2) and earthquake (2). But unfortunately, my plan failed.

This match was clearly on my side. Even my secondary Tank, Sea Monster, didn't have any impact on this match. Using the Kraken as my main tank (with Taunt ability), I was able to secure my backline damage dealers. I also diversified my attacks with enough melee and magic damage. The added armor from Venari Wavesmith helps me to survive the first 2 rounds while taking backline monsters with attacks using Opportunity ability. If we also check my opponent's line-up. it seems he/she didn't utilize the mana capacity allowed for that match.

This one was a bit close as well as I had a chance to win if only I was able to take down Adelaide as well. With Djinn Renova and Sandworm combined damage, I will be able to sustain it with 2 heals.

Although I would say I have a better chance if I stick with Death Splinter. I had Dark Ha'on and Ancient Lich on that brawl. Life Leech is great on Blast rule as you can deal damage to 2 monsters at the same time, which will greatly affect the leeching ability.

I also place Living Lava at the 2nd position anticipating a lot melee damage from opponent. With the Blast rule, magic damage is preferred as it pass through armors.

The important thing is I learned a thing or two in this match.

For this match, I'll just attached a screenshot of the battle as is too long to capture in a gif file

With the no magic and no armor ruleset, the only choice is to use melee or ranged monsters. Both of us used Mylor Crowling as the Summoner to provide Thorns ability to all monsters. Furious Chicken definitely was a plus here as it provides 2 damage back to Bertrol Gobson (Gladius) from Thorns. I chose Palidon Rakk (Gladius) here since it has high HP which I think will definitely be a big factor. I also had Cornealus as insurance since it has Heal ability.

I won against a Yodin Zaku here in this match. I was thinking his/her strategy was to finish the match early on since most of his monsters are ranged and no hard tank.
I was able to quickly assasinate his low hp monsters which helps Fina Voxom (Gladius) to stack stats from Bloodlust. With no hard tank on my opponent's line-up, killing the first position monsters open up his defense.

This was also an easy match since my opponent went for a melee/range defensive line-up. Luckily, I went full magic this time in order to negate the additional 2 armor from the ruleset.

Armored Up ruleset provides 2 additional armors to each monsters. And as we should know, Magic damage penetrates armor (excluding Void armor) so it is best to go for Magic instead of Melee or Ranged.

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using blockchain technology, players can buy, sell, and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.

Use my referral link to register and I will give you some cards to help you start your own Splinterland journey.
