A View On Airdrop Conflict

(Edited)

The new airdrop will be one of the most anticipated new features coming to Rebellion era. It will invite a more active participation to chase airdrop rewards. In previous editions, airdrop rewards are counted by the direct purchase made by players. This made possible for airdrop rewards to be attained by laundering the purchased packs. Buy the packs through the shop and then sold it for discount in the secondary market, while keeping the right for airdrop rewards chances.

But with the new "Conflicts" system, staking will be the basis to earn airdrop rewards. Players will be required to be more active in the form of staking. The good news, cards and packs, both could be used as assets for staking. Packs might be locked and untradeable while being staked; but staked cards are still useable for battle. This is great because cards will then have dual utilization; generate SPS from battle reward and chances to gain airdrop reward. This system should also prevent the secondary market price from being damaged, since there's no longer absolute benefit of airdrop chances due to purchasing through the secondary market.

But the bad news is there's a catch for these staking. Players will need vehicles to stake the assets in form of "Battle Wagon", which will require Vouchers to pay. We don't know 2 (two) things. We don't know how much Vouchers these Wagons will cost, and we don't know what these Wagons would be use after the airdrop ends. If there are no further use of these Wagons, these staking could turn into a costly effort. In addition, with a fixed number of rewards pool, there will be no exact CP rate to secure at least 1 (one) card. We don't know how far the market will push to pursue this airdrop rewards by the number of total Wagons flood the market.

The interface of the "Conflicts" are very much interesting. The wide Contribution Bar in the middle seemed to gauge certain achievement. It is said that "Every hour over the duration of the Conflict, the total Collection Power of the cards and packs that are staked will be counted for each participating player and added to a points total for that player for the Conflict.". I wonder if this will gauge the total standing collected CP of the players compared to the whole collected CP of all players. If it so, then how to decide the required CP to earn an airdrop reward. The threshold might be decided by the whole collected CP divided by the number of airdropped cards in the pool. But then again is it possible to gain more than 1 (one) airdropped cards, if the collected CP surpass double or more of the threshold?

Overall investing on early pack purchases (after pre-sale) will become more advantageous. But whether its better to stake on cards or packs is still a dillema. With packs valued at 150 CP. It might be better to use packs to stake. Normal cards only gain 5 CP, rare gain 20 CP, and Epic gain 100 CP. So when opening a pack we migbt gain at the very least 40 CP (5CP x 4 Normal + 20CP x 1 Rare). This is much lower than holding a pack.
