BATTLE MAGE SECRETS : AIM TRUE
With Aim True, all cards will have 100% accuracy. Speed and other abilities affecting evasion will become useless. This ruleset will give better chances for cards with low speed but high damage to deal guaranteed hit. But still care will be needed as this ruleset could lure players into certain pattern and become a setup trap.
Pros & Cons
1. This ruleset will benefit cards with high damage but low speed which supposed to have low accuracy. | 1. High speed card will become less important as they can't rely on speed to gain better accuracy or evasion. But speed still become important to gain earlier initiatives. |
2. Cards with heavy armor should be more preferred, since cards magic cards will be less potent thus melee and ranged cards will be seen more frequently. | 2. Magic cards also become factored down as their guaranteed hit now will be rivaled with both melee and ranged cards. Of course except if we expect opponent will draw on heavily armored formation. |
Best Cards To Use
WATCH BATTLE
So here we have the battle experience with Aim True as the ruleset. Click BATTLE LINK to see how the battle run.
The battle has a maximum 40 mana cap, with Target Practice and Aim Trues as the rulesets; while only Fire and Death Splinters are made available.
This battle is at handicap as my opponent bring a total of only 38 mana, and while Eternan Brune allow a gladiator for use, none was deployed. The front row lead by Dumacke Orc; a risky choice for battle where magic cards is still useable. The 2nd row is Ferox Defender, a good choice not only for its Protect but also a tough secondary Tanker
. The rest of the row are questionable choice. There are 2 (two) non-attack cards and 2 (two) cards with Martyr. Experience has shown that the best and ideal formation is bring at most 1 (one) non-attack cards. Bringing 2 (two) non-attack derogate too much the damage output of the formation. And then there are Martyr card which purpose is to get eliminated, but the effect was targeted to non-attack. Its a complete mess up from my point of view.
I decided to maximize my formation by using Tarsa as summoner. Torch Myrmidon has been my favorite card for its Flank. Combined with Mantaroth, both cards should deal punishing blow into the front row. With Target Practice ruleset, I decided to set trap using Venari Marksrat. Next I choose Ferox Defender, not only for its Protect, but also this ability will boost Mantaroth's Armored Strike even more. Unfortunately the Protect only useful to balance off the shield debuff from Eternan Brune. The last 2 (two) rows consist of Scavo Hireling and Uraeus, just to shield against ambush and support the front-row.
I really loss my initiatives at Round 1, but it just turn into an advantage instead. Firecaller and Venari Marksrat just hit their Snipe right into my Venari Marksrat. This trigger Martyr upon Ferox Defender and Mantaroth. Mantaroth and Uraeus launched their attack to Dumacke Orc and Iidri Fyre. Mantaroth really deal some damage into Dumacke Orc.
Round 2 and my formation pull the throttle early. Torch Myrmidon crush Dumacke Orc final armor, then followed by Mantaroth which deal killing blow and then continue to break Ferox armor up to 5 damage. Firecaller and Venari Marksrat make a small but effective attack to put down Scavo Hireling for good. The battle ended with 5 against 4. Although outnumbered, my formation still got the upperhand with more damage output and Mantaroth left untouched.
Entering Round 3, my formation make another breakthrough by sweep a kill in single succession by Torch and Mantaroth. With Ferox Defender no longer, my opponent most likely got no chances for survival as it only rely on Venari Marksrat to strike.
Round 4, Torch and Mantaroth sweep another kill this time on Firecaller. The Martyr effect left useless as it only boost Clockwork Aide. Iidri Fyre started to fell apart as it is left with 2 health remaining being struck by Uraeus.
And the rest is just history as my formation as my cards alternately deal blow into the remaining cards. And Round 6 become the witness where the fate is sealed for my opponent.
CONCLUSION
This battle doesn't show the exact advantage of Aim True ruleset. Mainly due to my formation already have better overall speed than my opponent. I think its a mistake for my opponent to rely on too much Martyr cards and non-attack cards. For my side, the effect of Aim True felt very much with Mantaroth deal both regular attack and armored strike directly into the front-row.
