|---|---|
1. Close Range ruleset are very useful as a last resort backup plans when your formation are crumbling. At the least you still got chances to fight back with the ranged cards. | 1. Close Range are as good as giving opportunity to fight back; but considering most ranged cards are not built for endurance, chances that your ranged card might get eliminated before make a fight. |
2. This ability run very well when paired with Going The Distance ruleset, and when you didn't have much choice for a Tanker ranged cards. | 2. |

So here we have the battle experience with Close Range as the ruleset. Click BATTLE LINK to see how the battle run.

The battle has a maximum 34 mana cap, with Little League and Close Range as the rulesets; while only Water and Earth Splinters are made available.
I didn't make a full utilization into Close Range ruleset. Instead deploying a ranged cards formation, I decided to go with a magic cards instead. I decided to deploy Obsidian to gain the magic damage buff. The front-row are spearheaded by Xenith Monk. The heal should help the card endure the formation long enought. Then I decided to bring Queen Mycelia for its Protect ability. Ujurak Mystic has been my favorite magic card, mainly due to its solid health and decent armor, but also its Lookout are best to minimize Snipe and Sneak attack. I follow up Moxian Rebel and Clockwork Aide in hope to gain speed buff and make a better initiatives attack. Last but not least is Centaur which health and speed should serve a strong poise when the formation are crumbled.
My opponent goes with Keyla Frendul as the summoner which will be least usefull since my formation are dominated with magic cards. In the second row is Angelic Mandarin, a 3 mana ranged cards with massive health, a good choice for this ruleset. The third row there is Kulu Swimhunter with its 2 ranged damage which pack some punch. The rest of the row are inferior 4 mana magic cards which good for dealing damage and thats it.

The damage output of my formation really help propel my superiority. I managed to bring down the Xenith Monk in the 1st round. Meanwhile my Xenith Monk survived the round thanks to the Heal ability.

Unfortunately my Xenith Monk finally meet its demise at the early run of this 2nd round. But its not long before Moxian Rebel cut short Angelic Mandarin. Venari Spellsmith really put an excellent performance by casting Dispel into Queen Mycelia, exposing it to incoming ranged attacks. By the end of 2nd round its a 5 against 4 with both formation at 1 health remaining on front-row.

With an exchange of blow, both Kulu Swimhunter and Queen Mycelia meet their demise. And in wave of magic spell, my formation managed to wipeout River Nymph leaving the battle to 4 against 2.

Still the battle is not near to victory. As my reserve card is on paperthink health. I have to lose Ujurak Mystic in the earlier act. But Moxian Rebel and Clockwork Aide put an impactful counter.

The battle run to the deciding Round 5, where finally Elven Mystic met its demise when Centaur and Clockwork Aide launched a combined attack to put an end on it.
