BATTLE MAGE SECRETS : SUPER SNEAK

image.png

Super Sneak ruleset grant all Melee cards with Sneak ability. With this ruleset, it means all Melee cards wherever their position is, will be able to deal their attacks. But Sneak ability has it own vulnerability. Sneak target the card in the last row position; which means this attack would be predictable. Placing Thorns, Shield, or Retaliate in the last row could trap Sneak attacker under backfire. So under this ruleset, the battle could turn into a battle of wit. Who could outwit the opponent would come out victorious.

Pros & Cons

Pros.png
Cons.png
1. Since Super Sneak would affect all Melee cards, thus all Melee positioned in the back-row will be able deal attack which directed to the last row. Most of Melee cards without inherent Reach, Sneak, and Opportunity ability, tend to have better health and armor; which means a better overall endurance of the formation.
1. There's always a downside of Super Sneak. And that is the predictable nature of its targeting which is the last row position. By deploying cards possessing Shield and Heal into the last-row position, players could get trap into vulnerable position instead.

Best Cards To Use

The strategy choices under this rulest is either to go all out Melee or go nothing at all. When going all out with Melee; bringing Melee cards with buff and debuff abilities would be prominent strategy. Cards such as Disintegrator, Demented Shark, etc. would boost the total damage output significantly. And even though, your opponent might set a trap into their last row position; the combined benefit from buff might offset the trap itself.

The battle has the minimum 32 mana cap, with Super Sneak as the sole rulesets; while only Fire and Dragon Splinters are made available.

I decided to use unorthodox strategy by focusing on Bloodlust ability. I took Eternan Brune to gain access to gladiator card. For the first 3 (three) rows, I put cannon fodder cards with Ant Miners on the last part. Scavenger should prove to be useful to pile up health wall. For the rear-squad, I bring Grum Flameblade, a strong Melee card with Bloodlust ability. Then Gorth follow next. Gorth has a huge health and damage, with Bloodlust, the highly sought ability. For the last row, I deploy Kobold Bruiser, which should contribute damage, while also turn into cannon fodder.

Across the side, my opponent decided to take Tarsa as summoner. Antoid Platoon took the lead, a mediocre Tanker, but useful for its Shield. Radiated Brute follow next, striking from behind with its Reach and strong melee damage. Firecaller follow in the 3rd dealing a fair 2 ranged damage, while holding Martyr as guarantee. Tenyii Striker fill the 4th row, followed up with Fire Elemental. Xenith Monk in the last row seemed to protect the formation while having Heal to endure.

The 1st round started. In only few blows, I already lost half of my cards. Even Ant Miners with its Scavenger are left with 3 health remaining. Only Grum Flameblade able to strike down Xenith Monk, and thus claimed its first Bloodlust.

image.png

Grum Flameblade act much faster and deal another killing blow into Fire Elemental. Radiated Brute had its Reach set aside by Sneak. Both Tenyii Striker and Radiated Brute deal a massive blow into Gorth. Ant Miners caught off-guard and fall in the hand of Antoid Platoon.

The tide of the battle didn't turn better. Tenyii Striker open the round by striking down Gorth. The rest of the formation strike directly into Grum Flameblade. But Grum end the round by dealing killing blow into Antoid Platoon, finally claimed its 3rd Bloodlust.

Grum Flameblade started to gain its momentum. Grum able to endure the combined attack of Tenyii Striker, Radiated Brute, and Firecaller. The massive blow of Grum swept away Radiated Brute in a single blow. In this instance moment, the tide of battle upended into my side.

image.png

The victory is upon my side! As my opponent are left with Tenyii Striker, Grum block the incoming damage with its 1 remaining armor. Then Grum deal another deathblow into Firecaller, claiming its 5th Bloodlust. And the rest is history, as Grum deal the final blow into Tenyii Striker.

Conclusion.gif

CONCLUSION

Super Sneak is truly useful ruleset. But without proper defensive line on the back row, this ruleset could dismantle the formation quickly. I decided to put in line 2 (two) of my best Bloodlust card to gain its momentum. And fortunately this strategy run out very well. Even under heavy handicap of 4 against 1, Grum Flameblade able to dominate the battle in a quick swept.
