Funding Steps For Rebellion Pack
Rebellion Editions is finally coming and the hype is here! Last year I've experienced the release of Chaos Legion edition. At that time I just started with Splinterlands and barely have any funding for purchasing several packs. With passing months I managed to raise fund to purchase beyond 100 CL packs. At that time, CL packs are available on discounted price, due to packs are purchasable by DEC, and DEC have been undervalued by 30% of its peg value. It's a shame that with all my purchased packs, I didn't managed to gain any airdropped cards.
The price downfall of CL packs has somehow disinclined my intention to purchase Rebellion packs. With now CL cost below $1, it felt like 75% of its original value has lost. The current market price of gold foil cards is irrationally very cheap. The pre-sale for Rebellion packs is 300,000; and we are yet to know if the total supply would mount beyond 10 Million just like CL packs. The market might be flooded so much which not balanced with new players incoming or the existing players leaving on. We could felt this with Modern Format battle going very competitive, and its almost impossible to progress from Bronze league to Silver league. This put so much dilemma to purchase Rebellion packs.
So I decided to be more conservative toward purchasing Rebellion packs. I thought the 100 packs would be a good starting step since it will grant a free 5% packs. To purchase this I would need 100 x 4,000 DEC = 400,000 DEC plus 100 (+ 5 free packs) x 5 voucher = 525 packs. So here's some of my consideration to accumulate the needed funding.
1. DEC
DEC price has surged up approaching its peg value in the past weeks. Mainly due to pre-sale of Rebellion packs. The price has steadily floating between 4% to 8% below of its peg value. I didn't hold much DEC at the time of this uptrend, so I have to accumulate its almost from nothing. My focus is to stay patient and keep a scheduled small purchase over the next 2 weeks. I expect to purchase DEC when at its lowest point which at best is at $0.00091
My main DEC reserve currently comes from DEC-SPS liquidity pools which has generate a quite sum of SPS income. I will release around $150 worth of LP which I will do in scheduled steps so I could anticipate any volatility in DEC-SPS prices.
2. Hive
At the time of writing this post, Hive token has surged up by 10%. I hold up a quite amount of Hive token and expect this reserve as major funding to my DEC purchase. A weeks ago the DEC-Hive exchange rate is around 0.0031, and currently it drop to 0.00294. I put a purchase order on 0.00284 for a total of $75 DEC value, and wait to see if Hive token might climb up further before making another order.
3. SPS
SPS has been the most flexible and ready to use reserve of mine. SPS is easily gained from pool liquidity, from SPS staking, battle, and the most one is brawl. The price of SPS is quite worrisome, being a month ago reaching $0.020, today it land at only $0.01399. I plan to unstake some of my SPS, but with this current price, it will be barely enough to fund for DEC. But still I expect to gain around $10 at best to give buffer to my funding.
My main SPS reserve coming from DEC-SPS liquidity pool which come along when I remove liquidity for DEC. I hold around 5,700 SPS, and will exchange some of it when there is a good exchange rate against DEC.
So what I'm gonna do with my Rebellion packs?
I will certainly open 50 packs and collect whatever cards it bring. It's been a while since I opened pack, and there's nothing more gratifying than pulling a Epic, Legendary, and gold foil cards. I think those feeling are worth the price than just keeping the pack unopened.
And then with 100 packs purchase, I will secure 10 Grimbardun Smith and 1 Mantaroth. It will be a good free bonus for this purchase, than purchasing the packs from secondary market.
Lastly the 55 packs will be hold in reserve for the Airdrop Conflict staking scheme. I don't exactly know how this run, but hearing it will also need cards to stake for its Collection Power, it might be good to utilize some of my excess cards.
