Its The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

It's November which means the festive season is coming! Its been an up and down during the year and here the end of the year is where we will enjoy all of our hard works. This year will be different for me. Its my second year in Splinterlands, and yet I've made a quantum leap on my gameplay. What makes more interesting is the release of Rebellion editions. And I'll tell my journey here.

Discovery of Splinterlands

I found Splinterlands in the end of 2021. At that time play-to-earn crypto gaming is booming. I surfing into several available games, and just end up finding Splinterlands. At first gameplay wasn't my main interest. Instead the SPS airdrop program for holding DEC become my interest. I did some play, but I thought the game was a bit dull. Maybe due to the limited numbers of collection, and yet purchasing new cards news some funds. At that time Untamed editions is the latest editions to add, and withing a months the Chaos Legions editions is released. Watching Chaos Legions editions is mouth-watering. But the limited fund halted my wish to purchase those packs.

I decided to left Splinterlands during January 2022. Month after month I only waited to collect the SPS airdrop. But the falling price of both SPS and DEC has attracted me to monitor closely my investment there. I returned around September 2022. At that time the price of Chaos Legion packs have become affordable. Mainly due to CL packs could now be purchased using DEC, and DEC price has fallen so much. I then decided to purchase around 200 packs by paying almost half of its original prices.

While enjoying the pleasure of pulling the cards from pack. I found that Splinterlands official account has been posting weekly challenge. I decided to participate in some by reviewing the Chaos Legion card. I started to gain a few sum of hive rewards, which I found could be useful to expand my collection. So at that moment I become active again in Splinterlands but more on the article writing. So for the whole years, I've been doing article analyzing the profile and abilities of each and every cards.

Duration of Participation

I think for the whole years, I've grown from amateur players into quite a experienced players. I've propels my ways from Bronze Leagues up to Gold League. But with the current battle turning more competitive due to anti-bot measures; I've been stuck in the Bronze League for some time. My current biggest interest is the participation in the Brawl with my current clan. Interaction and strong bonding with clanmates is a great way to detach ourself from boredom of lonely battle.

Time Spent in Splinterlands

I put a good balance between battling, brawling, and writing articles right now. The upcoming release of Rebellion editions will bring new colors to the battle landscape. These will open new discussion and analysis regarding cards combination and strategy. The competitiveness level in the regular battle have put myself away from taking consistent and continuous battle. But with the new Rebellion cards, I've pre-purchased, I believe I should gain better advantage in the current battle.

Upcoming Goals

I believe that currently Splinterlands have a low player's base, and have a lot of potential for future growth. Land and plot will come to use soon. Now will be a good time to enter the realm and help Splinterlands growth. Cards and assets collected today will have a good investment value in future time.

I've been participating in the pre-sale of Rebellion packs, and managed to get myself 126 packs. This will guarantee myself to get the Mantaroth and Grimbardun Smith promo cards. In addition these packs should bring a good footing for further airdrop from "Conflicts" system. I felt this as redemption from Chaos Legion editions, since I didn't earn any airdrops from those editions. The countdown is moving, and 24 days remaining until Rebellion packs become pullable.

Advice for Beginners

The learning curve of this game is a bit slow. To become expert players needs to study all the cards and know how to use them. Few of my suggestion:

1. You can't start with nothing. Trying to earn rewards by using starter and free-to-use cards is almost impossible. Invest some funds to purchase some decent cards.
2. Find a clan which actively participate in brawls. Brawls can provide quite sum of rewards which should be useful to expand your collection. In addition clan also provides building which grant some extra benefit.
3. The most important of all is Consistency. New players might quickly get discouraged after facing several losing streak. But its normal and its okay. This game have become more competitive currently. Don't give up and focus on refining your formation.
