TRAITS MAPPING : DEATH SPLINTER RANGED CARD

avatar
(Edited)

Starting from this post forward, I will write about Traits Mapping as stand-alone. Previously I include Traits Mapping graph and analysis as part of Battle Challenge posts for certain cards (take for example about Regal Peryton). Because those posts focus solely for the named cards, there isn't enough room to explore deeper into other cards mentioned in the graph. Therefore by making this as stand-alone posts, I will have more freedom to give analysis and personal thought for multiple cards at once. I will also add another exposition to compare cards based on their inherent abilities.

The above table show all Death Splinter ranged card from Untamed, Dice, Reward, Chaos Legion, and Riftwatchers editions. There're total of 12 cards. We could see from above table that 75% of the card are RARE type card. While in term of mana, card are spread evenly across low, mid, and high mana. There're 2 card available for 5 mana and 7 mana, which give alternative selection although not much. Meanwhile for huge mana cap, there's less selection since there's only 1 card for 9 mana and 12 mana .

By viewing Level 1 Chart, we can see that this collection doesn't have very powerful Striker (high damage per mana ratio) cards. The strongest card would be Soul Strangler (reference No.2) and followed by Soulstorm (reference No.8). As a matter of fact, Soulstorm even have 5 speed at only Level 1. Meanwhile, there seemed to be a lot number of Tanker (high health per mana ratio) card, which is lead by Dark Ferryman (reference No.11) and followed by Queen of Crows (No.6), Dark Astronomer (No.1), and Wierding Warrior (No.3). All of them have health per mana ratio more than 1.0.

Next we will view the Max Level Chart. All cards seemed to have a major growth in term of all characteristics, which is understandable as most card are RARE category which have at least more progression steps than NORMAL type card. THe most significant change seemed to happened in Speed stats. All cards progress into yellow nodes (3 - 4 speed), with only Raa (reference No.7) staying as red nodes. One very unique growth happened on Vampire (reference No.10), where the speed grow frequently from 2 speed to 7 speed!

Soul Strangler still hold the lead position as a Striker card. But Dark Ferryman now take up the 2nd position as a Striker card (1.0 ratio) and leading position as Tanker card (2.0 ratio). Other card have a mediocre growth for damage per mana. Health growth are rather mediocre but happened collectively across all cards as half of the collection have entered the second column (between 1.0 to 2.0 ratio).

Abilities Mapping

On my previous Trait Mapping post, I divide abilities based on Tanker ability and Support ability. In this post I separate Tanker abilities which solely benefit the possessor, from abilities which modify the damage value (Double Strike, Oppress, etc.), change targeting (Opportunity, Sneak, etc.), or have certain negative effects (Shatter, Stun, etc.).

Personal Thought

This final section, I give my personal thought for several card mentioned below.

.1. Vampire, Raa, and Soulstorm
___________________Tanker abilities are found rarely in this collection. Vampire, Raa, and Soulstorm have the Flying ability as protection. Vampire and Soulstorm are the most remarkable as they already have very high speed. Although Vampire is a little tricky to use. Vampire have only 1 health and no health growth at all, so its survivability depend very much on its high evasion rate. But having Life Leech (plus high damage) would mean it health will grow by passing round. So its a very risky card at earlier round, but safer at later round.
.2. Raa
image.png___________________There's seemed to be balance between Striker abilities and Support abilities. The stark difference come from Raa and Queen of Crows. Raa have the highest abilities count. Three of which are Striker abilities. A combination form Scattershot and Double Strike would turn Raa into fireworks shooter. In addition, Rust seemed a decent ability to support not only itself, but also other cards. But all these abilities have to be paid with very minimal status growth. And its very unfortunate that Raa, with all that rapid and random attack, become card with the lowest damage per mana ratio.
.3. Queen of Crows
image.png________________Queen of Crows meanwhile have very unique abilities combination. Headwind, Slow, Return Fire, and Close Range is like a total combination to counter ranged card with ranged card. But still with few growth on damage and health. It seemed this card are better be used as support.
