TRAITS MAPPING : FIRE SPLINTER RANGED CARD (NEW MODERN FORMAT)

So after our previous traits mapping (you could find it here). We will continue with a ranged fire cards collection. The number are few because Rebellion only just been introduced. But still Rebellion editions grant a 5 (five) ranged cards which constitute a third of this collection. So let's take a closer look at the collection profile.

The collection are dominated mostly by Rare type cards. Rare type cards are spread uniformly from the lowest mana up to the highest mana. Meanwhile Epic and Legendary type cards are few in numbers and dispersed in the mid to high mana cost. Mana range are quite vast coming from 2 mana up to 10 mana, with handful of cards on the mid mana level. There are no particular gigantic level mana. Tinderlock is the best ranged fire cards, which although not the entirely strongest card are best known for its Last Stand ability.

Ranged fire collection show a more humble profile than the melee fire. The health / mana ratio distributed mostly below 1.0 tick although there peculiar cards such as Lava Spider and Molten Ash Golem which fare much better. Damage / mana ratio are not any better. The best card only managed to reach 0.5 tick; and this possessed by the low mana card (Flame Mephit and Scavo Firebolt). Speed looks quite better with almost half of the cards started with 3 speed and more. Other than that the number of armored cards and number of abilities are not much and looks standard.

The max level chart show a substantial growth, mainly due to most of the cards are of Rare type. Speed is the notable one, with 4 (four) cards reaching blue nodes, while the rest are at yellow nodes (only Molten Ash Golem stay at 2 speed). Health / mana ratio grow susbtantially but still lower in average compared to melee fire collection. But damage / mana ratio seemeed to be in par compared with the melee fire. Most of the cards has reached above 0.5 tick, with 3 (three) cards reached 1.0. But still since most of this high damage / mana card are low mana cards, they're not much better compared to melee fire which have mid mana card for the best damage / mana ratio.

The number of abilities are the only little bit comforting thing for this collection. Most of the cards will gain 3 (three) abilities at max level with one-two cards reached to 5 (five) abilities.

Typical to ranged cards, the collection are dominated with Striker Abilities, which does so because the main roles of ranged cars is as damage dealer. Pecualiarly Close Range make up to 4 (four) cards for this collection, mostly owned by the mid to high mana cards. Other than that we also saw Affliction, Scattershot, and Oppress which available to 2 (two) cards each. Its very rare to see Opportunity owned by ranged card, although it become very special since it owned by Countess Sinash which is a legendary type.

Tanker abilities are few in variety and number, so it could be ignored. Support abilities are more in number. Silence and Swiftness are the most rare one and seemed to suggest it being possessed both Countess Sinash and Tinderlock.

Personal Thought

My thought, ranged fire collection shows a handful cards with solid "Tanker" roles. Card such as Dalthin Ironhood and Torch Myrmidon possessed high health and accompanied with armor. Flame Mephit also similar but noting that its a 2 mana card, this card gained so much leverage both on health, damage, and speed. In addition the Flying and Backfire ability complement eqch other very well to counter back-row attack.
