¡Hola Hivers! Les traigo mi nueva participación en el #Splinterlands Art Contest. En esta ocasión elegí la carta NAGA FIRE WIZARD es una unidad de fuego rara. Como su nombre lo indica, el fuego es una característica importante.

Hello Hivers! I bring you my new entry in the #Splinterlands Art Contest. This time I chose the card NAGA FIRE WIZARD is a rare fire unit. As its name suggests, fire is an important feature.

Quería realizarla con una expresión muy amenazante y mirada, penetrante, en un ambiente tipo volcán donde predominan los tonos cálidos.

I wanted to make it with a very threatening expression and look, penetrating, in a volcano-like environment where warm tones predominate.

Comencé, como es de costumbre, con el boceto, en una pose imponente y lista para lanzar fuego a sus enemigos, ajuste luego proporciones y lo encuadre en el lienzo para comenzar con el coloreado.

I started, as usual, with the sketch, in an imposing pose and ready to throw fire at her enemies, then I adjusted proportions and framed it on the canvas to start with the coloring.

Use colores cálidos como base para el personaje y le agregue unos indicios de lo que serian las luces y sombras a futuro. Inmediatamente, pase al fondo que sería una interpretación de la localidad del personaje, se me ocurrió que fuera una especie de volcán con lava o magma justo debajo del personaje y en la parte superior unas cimas de montaña con tonos más fríos a lo lejos para contrastar.

Ya con el fondo casi listo, continué pintando a Naga, puliendo los detalles, las luces y sombras, el fuego en las manos lo abordé de una manera más estilizada y creando un movimiento alrededor de las manos, use el efecto de añadir brillo para que resaltara, y use dos capas más con ese efecto para las luces de la cabeza y el cuerpo. Y como paso final ajuste los tonos y la saturación y este es el resultado.

Use warm colors as a base for the character and add a few hints of what the lights and shadows will be in the future. Immediately, move to the background which would be an interpretation of the location of the character, I thought of a kind of volcano with lava or magma just below the character and at the top some mountain peaks with cooler tones in the distance to contrast.

With the background almost ready, I continued painting Naga, polishing the details, lights and shadows, the fire in the hands I approached it in a more stylized way and creating a movement around the hands, I used the effect of adding shine to highlight it, and I used two more layers with that effect for the lights of the head and body. And as a final step I adjusted the tones and saturation and this is the result.
