Hola Hivers, esta es mi entrada en el Concurso de Arte de #Splinterlands de esta semana. He elegido a TECHNOMANCER una unidad rara de tipo neutral. El diseño me pareció muy divertido, ya que me recuerda a la típica imagen del científico loco con risa malvada y me inspiro a hacer mi versión.

Hi Hivers, this is my entry in this week's #Splinterlands Art Contest. I've chosen TECHNOMANCER a rare neutral type unit. I found the design very funny, as it reminds me of the typical image of the mad scientist with evil laugh and inspired me to make my version.

Quería experimentar un poco creando una ilustración en blanco y negro y luego agregarle el color, y al mismo tiempo hacerla parecer una pintura tradicional con el uso de textura de lienzo como base. El proceso fue muy directo, al ser en blanco y negro solo me concentro en los contrastes en claroscuro.

Con una base ya terminada comencé el proceso del coloreado con el uso del mapa de degradado en modo de capa color más varias capas en el mismo modo para agregar los distintos tonos y efectos de luz que junto a otra capa en modo agregar brillo para resaltar las luces.

I wanted to experiment a bit by creating a black and white illustration and then adding color to it, while making it look like a traditional painting with the use of canvas texture as a base. The process was very straightforward, being in black and white I just concentrate on the contrasts in chiaroscuro.

With a base already finished I started the coloring process with the use of the gradient map in color layer mode plus several layers in the same mode to add the different tones and light effects that together with another layer in add glow mode to highlight the lights.

Para la parte de la textura, use un fondo que cree para una ilustración anterior y agrupe las de más capas en la parte superior y las puse en modo multiplicar para que se pudiera ver la textura, dando ese resultado como que está pintado en lienzo. El resultado me gusto mucho, creo que se vería muy bien impreso. Y como siempre les dejo un video del proceso aquí abajo.

For the texture part, I used a background I created for a previous illustration and grouped the most layers on top and put them in multiply mode so that the texture could be seen, giving that result as if it was painted on canvas. I really liked the result, I think it would look great printed. And as always I leave a video of the process below.
