This combination isn't anything new but I believe that I made this one before Splinterlands remove the level limit for the monsters. That's why I wanted to review this combo.

Captain Katie is one of the strongest monster in the game and this is true even if Captain katie is at lower level.

In Fire & Regret where you have the disadvantage of using monsters with range damage, having a good arsenal of magic damage is very strong and reliable.

Helios Matriarch is a Rare summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.

Level 4 Rare summoners allow the use of:
Level 2 Legendary monsters;
Level 3 Epic monsters;
Level 4 Rare monsters;
Level 5 Common monsters.

I was very fortunate to have a level 4 Gold Helios Matriarch and this is the reason why I use her a lot than the other soulbound summoners despite her having worse abilities than her counterparts.

Abilities

---

+1 Speed. [Stat Modifier] [Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Speed increased by 1.

The additional speed is really good in order to kill your opponents faster before they attack. This reduces the damage you would get over time.

Conscript. [Support] Allow the use of one additional Gladiator this battle.

It's a really useful ability that allows you to use Gladiator cards in Ranked formats. It's a necessity for you to use Captain Katie.

Captain Katie has a strong stats for a level 6. She has already high damage and a magic type on top of that. The stats also complements the ability which allows her to 2 shot a lot of support with Snipe giving her Bloodlust stacks.

Abilities

At level 1, Snipe is unlocked. [Target Modifier] The attack priority of this monster's attack is changed to "The opponent's monster that is not melee and/or not on 1st position"

Very strong when combined with a magic damage monster. This is because magic damage is hard to counter as it passes through armor and cannot save your monsters unless they have Void Armor as well to work with.

At level 1, Bloodlust is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] [Positive Status] If this monster kills an opponent's monster, max health, max armor, attack damage, and speed increases by 1.

Bloodlust is a strong ability when combined with the Snipe and Magic damage. With these combinations, Captain Katie can one shot a lot of support monsters after getting 2 stacks.

At level 6, Divine Shield is unlocked. [Defense] Negates one instance of damage when this card is hit by an attack.

To me, Divine Shield is not strong since it only negates an instance of damage. However, it's also good for cards that require time to scale and this ability allows Captain Katie to not be one shot by other monsters before getting to that 2 Bloodlust stack power spike.

Helios Matriarch: The extra speed is good as I was able to kill the opponent's Captain Katie immediately before they eliminated mine.

1. Djinn Chwala: With high health and decent armor, while having huge damage, Djinn Chwala is a good monster to use when you only have a selection of monsters you can use for the battle.
2. Chaos Dragon: The combination of Scattershot and Blast ability are great at eliminating back line monsters.
3. Captain Katie: She is the best girl. While Chaos Dragon softens the supports from the opponent's back line, Captain Katie serves as the executioner dealing the killing blows with her Snipe ability and great magic damage.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. The monsters did their part and even though it wasn't even close that they would win this battle. With the huge magic damage their back row is getting, it's just a matter of time before their supports and back row monsters die.

ᗯᕼᗩT ᗯIᒪᒪ YOᑌ TᖇY ᗪIᖴᖴEᖇEᑎTᒪY ᑎE᙭T TIᗰE?

This is not a must but simply another build if you want to. You can change Djinn Chwala to lower mana cost units to serve as mini walls. That way, unlike this one when Djinn Chwala falls, you still have a few monsters you can use to block the opponent's attacks.

Helios Matriarch and Captain Katie in Fire & Regret Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

. This may be a surprised but I actually don't like this rule of combat. Yes, it reduces the choices your opponents can use and allows you to counter them easier but in battles like these where I don't counter the opponent, it just limits my monster choices, which is just annoying to deal with.
