Adjusting to what rules of combat you currently plays are a sign of a good Splinterlands player. When you encounter a rule of combat that you are interested in, there are two ways to deal with it. It's either you take advantage of it or avoid it at all cost.

Ferocity is a rule of combat that can either make or break you. With this rule of combat, you actually cannot use any monsters with Taunt ability as it would put you in a big disadvantage.

While you may not see in this article what happens when someone uses monsters with Taunt, I hope I can show the logic behind it and more.

Dallan is a Epic summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.

Dallan is an Epic Summoner. He's in between a rare and legendary summoner. While his ability is not something a lot of people desires, what makes this summoner stands out is that this is one of the cheapest summoners to use if you want to use max level monsters for Death Splinter.

Cripple. [Negative Status] Monsters attacked by this card have their max health reduced by 1.

Cripple is a good ability when facing monsters with Taunt. Since the attacks focus on one monster, the reduction in max health also focuses on it reducing the amount of opponent's possible Heal and Tank Heals.

The main benefit for having Dhampir Stalker is the incredible constant stream of high damage. With a damage of 5 and cannot miss due to True Strike, Dhampir Stalker is a sure way to come up on top as long as you have good tanks to front for him.

Abilities

At level 1, True Strike is unlocked. [Attack Modifier] This monster's attack cannot miss, regardless of the speed difference, rule of combat and abilities applied on the board.

This is a very strong ability for melee and range since both damage types have a chance to miss. High damage will be worth nothing if they miss.

At level 5, Deathblow is unlocked. This monster does double damage to the last monster on the opponent's team.

This ability combined with Dhampir Stalker's high damage can be a game changer. This ability doubles the damage if the opponent is the last one on the opponent's team. This ability is a multiplier, which means other abilities that has the same effect, such as Fury, Knock Out, and Giant Killer stacks with this.

The rule of combat Ferocity gives monsters the Fury ability that you can use to combine with Deathblow ability. With these two combined, the total damage Dhampir Stalker can do can be multiplied by 4 bringing the total damage to 20.

Dallan: The ability of Dallan is not important for this match but I needed a cheaper summoner to rent for max level monsters.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. Since my team is focused on magic damage, Djinn Oshannus was the main problem. Djinn Oshannus's Void ability reduces the magic damage my monsters do while his high speed is a pain for any melee and range monsters. However, due to Dhampir Stalker's high range damage, Void does not reduce this damage. His True Strike ability also counters Djinn Oshannus's high speed as his attacks cannot miss making him a very viable counter to my opponent's main tank.

None. There's nothing I wanted to be changed in this battle since the mana cap is a bit low. My choices of monsters to use are quite limited and as you can see, the lineup worked quite well.

Dallan and Dhampir Stalker in Ferocity Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

. Actually, it's a bit of both but leaning more on I don't like it. I like Ferocity because it removes my opponent's use of Taunt giving me more chance to use diverse strategies to win. On the other hand, it's also the same reason why I don't like it because I am also fond of using Taunt abilities.
