I have this very weird game that I'm sure my opponent lacked time to prepare. This is a recent Modern Ranked so I doubt that this good player is a bot.

The game was a decent mana cap match but once you see their lineup you will also ask yourself, "Was this planned or was this a fluke?"

Octavia Shadowmeld is a Rare summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.

Level 2 Rare summoners allow the use of:
Level 1 Legendary monsters;
Level 2 Epic monsters;
Level 2 Rare monsters;
Level 3 Common monsters.

I don't normally use this summoner because I don't have good gladiators for the Death Splinter. Even in this game, you can see that I used her for the level and not the Conscript ability.

One of the most unique abilities in the game. I didn't use it this game because of the reason I said above.

Stat-wise, Cursed Windeku is one of the strongest. Despite not having defensive abilities until later levels, his high health coupled with Thorns are strong combination to deal with both Melee and Magic wielding opponents.

Abilities

---

At level 1, Thorns is unlocked. [Defense] [Damage] Any opponent's melee monster that attack this monster will take 2 melee damage back.

Since most of the strong tanks are Melee monsters, Thorns is one of the good offensive abilities for a tank.

At level 5, Heal is unlocked. [Support] At the start of this monster's turn, restore the its health by 1/3 of its max health.

Death Splinter lacks Tank Heals so a monster, more so on a tank, having Heal ability is very strong due to how uncommon it is in Death Splinters.

At level 8, Slow is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] [Negative Status] As long as this monster is alive, all opponent monsters has their speed reduced by 1, with a minimum of 1. Monsters with 1 speed before the effect applies are unaffected.

I don't find this ability strong unless you're running a specific build. It's a good addition though but is not worth spending your fortune for a max level Cursed Windeku.

Octavia Shadowmeld: She's a decent summoner but the lack of good Death Gladiators make her weaker than the other Soulbound counterparts.

1. Cursed Windeku: Good Tank, if not the best, for Death Splinter. Decent mana cost for high health.
2. Venari Bonesmith: One of my favorites in Death Splinter. Good at any levels due to his initial abilities and magic damage.
3. Ravenhood Warden: Another good monsnter since Death Splinter lacks support monsters. He's a bit hard to get though since he's also a Soulbound Rewards card.
4. Helheim Demon: Helheim Demon is a good defense if you want to delay the damage in your frontline.

Quora Towershead got outdamage before she can stack her Bloodlust ability. I also didn't use any Sneak monsters so the opponent's use of Terraceous Grunt did not help him.

Honestly, the reason I used her is because she's the highest level Death Summoner I have at the time. Any other summoner would be better and, of course, higher level cards make this game easier.

Octavia Shadowmeld and Cursed Windeku in Even Stevens Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Even Stevens did not become an obstacle this game but there are a lot of games that this rule of combat gave me a hard time. One example is that I like using Water Splinter for their supports. A lot of good supports in Water Splinters are Odd mana. Merdaali Guardian is 3, Venari Marksrat is also at 3 and Swamp Spitter is at 7.
