Octuple Strike! Eight attacks, Three monsters. One Round.

This is one of my Gold League games. Melee Mayhem is one of my most favorite rules of combat from before because it allows you to use monsters which, under normal circumstances, are very weak. A good example of this is Exploding Rat which has an amazing ability of Blast but cannot be put in first position due to his low health.

However, on this battle, I have someone more sinister, so vile, so scary that I can only unleash in rules such as Melee Mayhem, Equal Opportunity or Sneak. Say hello to The Vigilator and Possessed Puppet.

The Vigilator is included in "The" series. It's a made up series that I use to poke fun with these monsters since I discovered before that monsters under "The" category are really overpowered just like "The Kraken."

The Vigilator's price normally doesn't change at average of $20. He can be very strong and can also be very weak depending on the situation so many players don't use The Vigilator as it's quite tricky to use.

However, The Vigilator's rental price was a lot lower a year ago. Right now, you can try one for just 1.21 DEC per day. It doesn't even take you a $1 for a 2 years rental at this price.
If you are Silver and above, I suggest having this card in your arsenal for when rules of combat like Melee Mayhem come around. I don't recommend him in Bronze as the mana cap on Bronze is normally low.

Stats | The Vigilator

The Vigilator's stats are actually high. If you combine the two danage types, he would have a total of three damage which can be double by Double Strike. He also has high speed allowing him to attack first than most.
Did you know? Monsters with different damage types will both get an increase with Last Stand and Martyr? If a Martyr monster beside The Vigilator dies, his range damage and melee damage will both increase by 1. Last Stand will increase both by half if he's the last monster on the team.

At level 1, Double Strike is unlocked. This allows this monster to attack twice in one round. Since this monster has two damage types, Double Strike applies to both allowing him to attack two melee and two range, if able.

At level 2, Thorns is unlocked. Monsters that hit this card would take 2 melee damage. This damage can be increased by 1 by Amplify ability and can be decreased by half by Shield ability.

At level 3, Poison is unlocked. Monsters hit by this card have a chance of getting the Poisoned status.

Poisoned monsters will take 2 damage each round. This damage cannot be reduced but can be removed by Resurrect or Cleanse abilities.

Stats | Possessed Puppet

While Double Strike is very strong, Possessed Puppet is very weak. His low health makes this ability almost useless as you cannot use it under normal circumstances. He also has mid mana cost which makes you double think about using this monster just for the sake of Double Strike.
However, if rules were in your favor, this monster is a beast. For only 7 mana, at level 4, you can have this monster inflict 6 damage. At level 9, the damage increases and the total damage this card can inflict is 8. This can almost eliminate many tanks before this monster dies.

At level 1, Double Strike is unlocked. This allows this monster to attack twice in one round. The damage is equivalent to this card's current damage.

At level 6, Cripple is unlocked. A monster hit by this card will decrease its max health by 1. Cripple is useful against teams where their main focus is to heal the tank. Lower max health means lower heals.

At level 10, Dispel is unlocked. Monster hit by this card will remove its positive buffs. Positive buffs are those that can be seen above the card photo during a battle. An example is Inspire or Swift.

Summoner: Camilla Sungazer: Decreases all opponent's melee damage by 1. Since Melee Mayhem only affects melee monsters, this is a good rule of combat to use summoners that would affect melee monsters.
- Pelacor Deceiver: Has Flying ability and high speed allowing him to dodge most melee and range attacks.
- Disintegrator: Has Trample that allows extra attack if he did the fatal damage and Demoralize decreases the oppponent's melee damage by 1. It's the same effect as Camilla Sungazer.
- Carnage Titan: Dragon Legendary that has Double Strike and Reach. Reach allows him to attack from 2nd position as a melee. Since Melee Mayhem allows melee monsters to attack from any position, this ability will have no effect on this battle. Double Strike allows this monster to attack twice during each turn.
- Possessed Puppet: Has Double Strike ability that allows him to attack twice each round. The main problem about Possessed Puppet is its low health so you cannot use him as a main tank. Using him except on the first position will not allow him to attack as well since melee can only attack while on the 1st position. However, rules of combat such as Melee Mayhem allows Possessed Puppet to deal huge damage as while being in a safe position.
- The Vigilator: Has Double Strike as well that allows him to attack twice each round. Double Strike activates on all damage types. This means during The Vigilator's turn, he would do a double strike melee attack and a double strike range attack allowing him to attack four times in each round.
- Queen of Crows: Range monster with Close Range allowing her to attack if ever she gets to first position. Her Headwinds is also used to decrease opponent's range damage by 1. I placed her last because of her high health hoping she would be able to take a few Sneak attacks before exposing my mid damage threat.
For this battle, everyone gains Amplify which increases indirect damage such as Thorns, Return Fire and/or Magic Reflect. However, I did not discuss it in the lineup because I don't have monsters with those abilities making this ability unusable in this battle.
αͺIαͺ YOαα αTαα©TEGY α―OαKEαͺ?
Yes. With only Pelacor Deceiver as the sacrifice, I eliminated the opponent's team in a land slide. I abused Melee Mayhem by using multiple monsters with Double Strike to increase the overall damage. The Vigilator is, for sure, the biggest contributor in this game.
Camila Sungazer, Disintegrator and Queen of Crows are my main supports and tries to minimize the damage by reducing the opponent's melee and range damage. While this isn't a perfect team lineup for me, it's good enough to eliminate opponents with haste.
α―αΌα©T α―Iαͺαͺ YOα TαY αͺIα΄α΄EαEαTαͺY αEαT TIα°E?
The problem is that my lineup has high mana cost. The only change I can think of is Pelacor Deceiver to someone with a Shield ability like Chain Golem or Harklaw and that's only if the max mana cap is not in question.
π«π πππ ππππ The Vigilator and Possessed Puppet in Melee Mayhem Rules of Combat ? πΎππ ππ πΎππ πππ?
Yes. I really like The Vigilator but I don't rent him much because I tend to limit my lineup due to his mana cost. Also, he's weak on normal rules of combat. I think he's only strong on rules where it changes your targetting priority in order to abuse his dual attack type and Double Strike.
About Possessed Puppet, I would say that I do but only art-wise. While the idea of Double Strike is strong, having it on a monster with low health is like suicide. Unless the rule of combat is something like Equalizer that may increase his health or something that may change the targetting priority, I don't use him that much. Also, at 3 health, he's very susceptible to Water Splinter's Deeplurker. So, if the Water Splinter is available, It's another reason not to use him as well.
