Immortalis is on the okay part. He's not cheap or too expensive. You can get a level 1 for $13.80 or a level 4 for $150.

If you don't want to buy one right away, you can rent him and test him to see what combinations would be good for him. You can rent a level 1 for 1.15 DEC per day or a level 2 for 22.7 DEC per day.

Recently, I don't think Hill giant has been used a lot because of Venari Markrat and Fungus Flinger, both 3 mana cost but has Martyr to increase the stats of the monsters beside them.
Still, Hill Giant is a very good card to be in your back pocket. You can easily buy a level 1 copy for $0.01. A max level can be bought for $7.50.

The most efficient rental I can find is a level 4 for 0.18 DEC per day. For Gold league, you can rent a level 6 for 0.44 DEC per day.

Immortalis is a legendary summoner. Legendary summoners are very efficient. You only need a level 1 to get a max level Bronze build, level 2 for a max level Silver build and so on.
-1 Health. Decrease all opponent's monster's health by 1 with a minimum of 1. Monsters with 1 health before the effect is applied are unaffected.
This has the same effect as Weakness ability. Reducing opponent's max health also reduces the effectiveness of Heal and Tank Heal's restorations.

Void halves all magic damage to the monster. Any magic damage that is 1 before the effect applies are blocked and turns to 0.
Immortalis is a good counter summoner against mirror matches. These are the battles that your opponent also uses Earth Splinter. Normally, players uses Earth and Obsidian. The Void ability counters the increased magic damage given by Obsidian.

Removes the opponent's armor when the attack hits. This applies before the damage is applied. As an example, a range damage will reduce the opponent's armor first, and then remove the rest of the armor (if there is any).
This can be good and bad depending on the attacker. If the attacker has low damage, it would remove the armor for the rest of the monsters. However, if strong monsters like Sand Worm attacks and no armor was left, this is a big waste.

High health for a 3 mana cost monster. You can alternate him with Failed Summoner so you would have the extra 2 damage when needed.

At level 6, Stun is unlocked. Stun have a chance of inflicting Stunned status to the opponent.
Stunned opponents skip their next turn disabling their attacks and other activatable abilities such as Tank Heal, Heal or Cleanse.

Summoner: Immortalis: A high mana cost summoner that gives all friendly monsters Void and Shatter ability. In addition to that, it also decreases the opponent's max health by 1.
- Hill Giant: While he has no ability, his high health is very good in combination for Goblin Psychic's Tank Heal ability.
- Goblin Psychic: Has 2 magic damage and Tank Heal ability.
- Goblin Tower: Has Blast ability to damage the monsters beside the main target. Also has armor to block possible Sneak monsters.

Yes. In low mana matches, it is quite hard to find a good tank. However, Earth Splinter has that solved with Hill Giant. At level 3, you get a 3 mana cost 7 health monster that you can use. Goblin Psychic acts as both support and damage while Goblin tower is there to protect the rear in case opponents have Sneak monsters.

I think this is a balanced team. I would probably use Chain Golem to have a Void-Shield combo but it's not allowed in the Rule of Combat. You can, however, use Mycelic Infantry to have the same effect. The problem of doing that is you will not have any way to protect Goblin Psychic and your build would fall against Sneak focused builds.
π«π πππ ππππ Immortalis x Hill Giant in Rise of the Commons Rules of Combat ? πΎππ ππ πΎππ πππ?
Yes and no. It's not that I hate or I don't like Hill Giant but rather I don't use him really that often. My main tank is Chain Golem and it's either him or none at all. By none, I meant, I would rather have Queen Mycelia or someone with Protect ability and then use low mana cost monsters to form a wall then use the remaining mana to get out the most damage I can.
In terms of the rule of combat, I think Hill Giant is a strong contender for Rise of the Commons. Not only he costs 3 mana for a 7 health monster, he also has 2 damage. His high health is stronger than those with high armor as magic damage passes through armor. Hill Giant would take more damage to fall than Cruel Sethropod (4 health 3 armor) against magic damage monsters.
Immortalis, on the other hand, is a good summoner. Since the monsters have normally low damage, the Void ability will do a lot of negation on this rule of combat.
