Range monsters attacking in the first position could be an advantage because it allows a monster to attack the opponent's first position monsters directly. This is where Close Range rule set comes into play.

Range monsters in first position could potentially eliminate a strong monster from the opponent's lineup quickly if your monster has high attack power. However, this strategy is risky as the range monster is unprotected and can quickly get eliminated by the opponent's monsters if your range monsters have low health.

It's important to use a range monster in the first position only if it has high speed, high health or abilities to defend itself. But in specific instances, your range monsters being able to attack in first position is a huge plus to take advantage of their high attack damage.

Franz Ruffmane is a Rare summoner from the Chaos Legion. There's nothing noteworthy from a rare summoner and I consider them the most normal ones among the summoners.

One of the simplest but strongest ability that a summoner has.

Conscript. [Support] Allow the use of one additional Gladiator this battle.

Probably, one of the most genius ability made. It is a really useful ability in order to encourage people to use the Guild function of the game.

Zyriel's weak in terms of health, which makes her an easy target for Opportunity abilities. On the other hand, if you can make her last long, the Life Leech can make up for it.

At level 1, Weapons Training is unlocked. [Stat Modfier] [Damage] Monsters beside this monster with no attack types will be Trained. Trained monsters gain an attack type based on this monster's attack type, damage based on this monster's original damage and will be able to attack each round. Trained monsters cannot lose their attacks even if monsters with Weapons Training dies.

Since Zyriel has 3 range damage, passive monsters or monsters that do not have any attacks gains 2 range damage as long as this monster is alive. You can put 2 monsters on each side giving you an overall extra 4 damage besides Zyriel.

Life Leech gains half of the damage if the attack hits the opponent's health. Nothing happens if the attack hits the armor.

At level 2, Divine Shield is unlocked. [Defense] Negates one instance of damage when this card is hit by an attack.

Regardless if the damage is 10 or 1, it would block that one instance of damage.

At level 3, Rust is unlocked. [Stat Modifier] [Negative Status] As long as this monster is alive, all opponent monsters has their max armor reduced by 2, with a minimum of 0. Monsters with 2 or less armor before the effect applies have their armor removed.

Rust is a good ability to counter summoners and monsters that add armor to other monsters. Currently, there's no monsters ability or summoners that add 3 armor in an instant. The most added is from Protect ability which is 2, in which this ability directly counters.

1. Evelyn Auvera: A good anti melee and range due to her high armor. The immunity is good but most of the time, it won't really help. Can be trained to gain an attack from Weapons Training.
2. Aves Sturgis: Can give monsters beside him 2 magic damage using Weapons Training.
3. Pelacor Conjurer: Very cheap mana cost monster that can be trained to gain an attack from Weapons Training.
4. Zyriel: Very strong monster that can give 3 range damage to monsters beside her.
5. Scavo Hireling: His Repair ability is really strong when combo with Franz Ruffmane. Can be trained to gain an attack from Weapons Training.
6. Captain Katie: One of the strongest Gladiator since she has Snipe and Magic damage that passes through armor. With her Bloodlust, she's a force to be reckoned with one she gets her stacks up.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. This is my strongest Modern Ranked build so far for Life Splinter. Weapons Training is really strong and a mix of some Gladiators make it stronger with mixed attacks coming from front and middle.

None. The only one I was thinking of changing is Evelyn Auvera, the one in 1st position. However, there's no better 5 mana cost tank to change her in Modern so I don't have any changes in this build.

Franz Ruffmane and Zyriel in Close Range Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Yes. Franz Ruffmane is required not only for Captain Katie but also the extra armor. In case the opponent uses a lot of Sneak and/or Opportunity abilities, this build will break immediately.

That's the reason Franza Ruffmane is here.

Now, on to the rule. Zyriel is strong, super strong. However, she can only give others range attacks and they cannot attack while in first position and this is where the Close Range rule of combat comes in. It gives not only Zyriel but the other monsters the ability to attack in 1st position.
