Everything You Need To Know in Amorendel

Splinterlands is getting ready for a new seasonal event called Amorendel and it brings a very different kind of energy to ranked play. This Valentine-themed event starts with the new Ranked season on February 1 and runs until February 15. This gives players two full weeks to enjoy everything it offers before everythign ends.

Amorendel is not just about looks even though the visuals are a big part of it. Alongside new skins and avatar items, the event also introduces a modifier that can have a big impact on your battle. The modifier is very simple but I can imagine that it would flip how everyone does their lineup in the battles to come in Amorendel.

The New Amorendel Arena

During the event, all matches will take place in the Amorendel Arena. The battlefield is redesigned with vibrant colors and Valentine-themed visuals. Thematically, the arena is bright and a mixture of green and pink lush. There's a combination or Sakura-looking trees and normal green plants. Some bushes have pink flowers but everything is balanced with a small river on each corner of the screen.

The arena itself does not affect gameplay, but it changes the mood of ranked matches in a noticeable, nice way. I think it's a good arena and overall, I like how they added a visual here instead of just applying it in the game so we can take a better look at it.

Hey Jealousy Modifier

Amorendel introduces a brand-new modifier called, "Hey Jealousy."

This ruleset forces players to rethink how they normally use tanks. Before, the tanks or the monsters with the highest health are placed in front which would absorb most of the damage. Players normally use abilities like Sneak and Snipe in order to avoid these tanks and prioritize the lower health, higher damage monsters first.

With Hey Jealousy modifier, the tanks must be attacked at all cost. This happens regardless of positioning. Think of it like the highest health monsters have Taunt abilities that can be passed on the next highest health monster. With that change, using monsters with low health but high damage will be the key to victory. Abilities like Life Leech and Scavenger will be a very interesting play in this new modifier and I wonder how it would all play out.

Amorendel-Themed Skins

Amorendel adds 20 fully rendered monsters skins. There would be two versions for each of 10 monsters from the Conclave Arcana set. These skins are for the selected monsters only and are purely cosmetic but they offer two very different visual styles, Sweetheart and Obsessive.

All 10 Sweetheart skins will be available directly in the Glint Shop for the full duration of Amorendel.

Pricing by Rarity:
Common – 500 GLINT or 50 DEC
Rare – 2,500 GLINT or 250 DEC
Epic – 8,000 GLINT or 800 DEC
Legendary – 20,000 GLINT or 2,000 DEC

The Obsessive Versions are much harder to get and are only available through Ultimate Loot Boxes in Ranked Play, starting February 1, when the new season begins.

> Obsessive Version Details: 100 total skins across all Obsessive units Each unit limited to 10 mints 1% drop rate in Ultimate Chests

Once all Obsessive skins are claimed, they are gone forever and Gold Foil Potion odds return to normal. These skins require you to play constantly during the event season if you are aiming to a specific skin in the set. Unfortunately, there's no information yet on which monster or skins will be in these Obsessive versions except for this one monster below.

Amorendel Avatar Wardrobe Items

Amorendel also brings limited-time avatar wardrobe items. These are purely cosmetics which would let players match their avatar to the season of love.

Amorendel feels like a complete seasonal event rather than just a visual update. The Hey Jealousy modifier changes how battles play while the skins and wardrobe items give players some new cosmetic choices they can collect.

With limited-time availability and permanent collectibles, this event is a good step for Splinterlands. Once February 15 passes, Amorendel ends. This is a limited-time event so make sure that you don't miss when Amorendel drops in Splinterlands in a few days.
