Here's Another Sniper

In Splinterlands, magic damage monsters are really strong because it can bypass armor and can do consistent damage. Magic damage bypass armor is very strong as the opponent's monster can die even if they have armor left. Some monsters with magic damage focus on raw damage, while others focus on abilities and some are more balanced. Torrent Sniper belongs more to the third type. It doesn't have too strong attacks but it is very well rounded in terms of stats. Torrent Sniper is a monster that you can use in a lot of position. While he cannot tank directly and alone, Torrent Sniper can still act as a secondary tank. Torrent Sniper is strong on all levels. If you're using a low leveled Torrent Sniper, make sure to use or rent at least a level 2. The level 1 only have 1 magic damage and the level 2 have 2 magic damage which is strong when you combo it with Marlai Singariel.

Torrent Sniper is best described as a backline damage dealer with strong Snipe. Its 7 mana cost is reasonable considering its overall stats and abilities. With 3 magic damage, it can threaten most support monsters and damage dealers since magic damage ignores armor. Its 3 speed is average meaning it will not always attack first but the magic damage is still consistent and will always hit regardless of speed. The 3 armor and 9 health give Torrent Sniper good survivability allowing it to take hits from different sources. My suggestion is place him in front of your other more fragile damage dealers to protect them from opponent's Sneak or use him on the 6th position as a blocker for Sneak. The armor is really good against Sneak as sneak monsters normally have melee attack.

Snipe allows Torrent Sniper to target enemy magic and ranged monsters instead of hitting the main tank in the 1st position. This is very useful because those monsters usually have lower health and are used for their damage or abilities. By removing them early, Torrent Sniper reduces enemy damage output or strong abilities like monsters with Tank Heal that makes the tank more tankier. Snipe also helps avoid wasting attacks on high health tanks. In many matches, this ability is good as it bypass the tanks and hit those units that you need to kill the most.


Painforge increases Torrent Sniper’s damage when it takes damage itself. This ability works when Torrent Sniper gets hit by Poison, Burning or by attack from your own monsters like those with Reckless. This ability does not work when the opponent attacks you. This is good because Water Element has Shock Trooper which has Electrified that hits your team for 1 damage. This also means Torrent Sniper can get consistent damage increase and with high health, you would be able to take a lot of hits for a lot of damage before Torrent Sniper dies.


Weaken reduces the maximum health of all enemy monsters which is very strong since you need to attack them less to kill them. This ability also works well when enemy has Tank Heal or healing strategies since they scale from health. It works especially well with magic damage because magic already ignores armor. Weaken can also stack by itself so if you have multiple Weaken monsters, it would all work together.

Torrent Sniper is a monster built to kill while not ignoring survivability. It does not rush battles but slowly turns them in your favor. With good armor and health, it survives long enough to make its abilities matter. Its magic damage and Snipe help remove key opponents early. Painforge and Weaken add extra value as the fight goes on. Torrent Sniper works best in teams that aim for consistency and if you need extra tanks in the back.
Torrent Sniper is a monster with high flexibility in terms of positioning and you can use it depending on the situation needed.
