Brawl Report #83, Social Media Challenge, Come Join the Fight, lot’s of Death choices…

I don’t know what it was for me this brawl, but death was one of the choices I had for almost every fight, granted, death is a great splinter to use, but still, more choices needed. 😊 This was a decent one for me, so I can’t complain too much, as long as we are moving up right?

I have been visiting Splinterlore to learn more about the lore of Splinterlands, here is part of the lore, want to know more, check out the History of Octavia Shadowmeld, one of the new summoners.

A story about Octavia by Splinterlands:
Octavia made her way into the dungeons of the Cruel Mark. It was cold, but she ignored the discomfort. She hurried past empty cells, the orange glow of her oil lamp lighting the way. The gnome, Klaansmyrt, was still working in his laboratory. Judging by his rumbled clothes and disheveled appearance, he hadn’t left since she last saw him almost a week ago.

“I was expecting you earlier.” Klaansmyrt didn’t turn but continued to fiddle with a small cluster of wires.

“Banu needed me,” Octavia replied.

“When the little princess calls, her sister will always answer.” He set the wires down and turned. “Pass me that box, would you?” He pointed to a large crate on a nearby shelf.

“My sister means everything to me. You know that, Klaa.” Octavia grabbed the crate and carried it over to the workbench. “I take it you’ve finished?”

Klaansmyrt rubbed his small hands together. “It’s ready for you to try. Whether it’s finished… well, we shall see.”

From the box, Octavia lifted a large, glass, cylindrical tank filled with a black liquid. She loosened the shoulder straps and shrugged it onto her back. The liquid sloshed about inside the tank.

Klaansmyrt smiled. “Now, fasten the metal tubes into the skulls on your gloves.”

She twisted the ends of the tubes into the skulls fitted to the knuckles of her fighting claws until they clicked into place. Then she tucked the tubes out of the way under her arms. “So, what does it do, the black stuff?” she jabbed and slashed at the cold air.

“I call it nocturne. It’s harvested from the nectar of moon orchids.” Klaasmyrt's grin widened. “It becomes a gas when it’s exposed to air. Burns the airways, chokes the lungs… disorientation, panic, death. All that good stuff.”

Octavia stopped what she was doing and frowned. “And what about me?”

Klaasmyrt reached into the box and pulled out a face mask. “You’ll be just fine if you’re wearing this,” he said and winked.

On to the battle, the guild as a whole filled 14 out of 16 frays for this one, need just a few more! This one is in Silver all format fight with 7 fights that have my name.

Battle #1 (Link)
We begin this one in the home arena with 42 mana, scatter shot, return fire, thorns, and only death and dragon allowed. So, I am going death on this one, heavy on the magic, I don’t know how well that will work for me. They went death as well, a little different lineup though. They one this one, they got lucky with their poison that I did not get that chance with mine.

Battle #2 (Link)
This one stays in the home arena, hopefully with a little better outcome for me, looking at 13 mana, not other rules. Going with water on this one for that speed and armor. They went death, to knock down my health a little bit is my guess. However, those thorns is what killed me, another bad outcome for me.

Battle #3 (Link)
On the road with my tail between my legs at this point, 19 mana, close range, slow, magic reflect, oh and only death and dragon again. I decided to try death again on this one, a little different strategy, they went with an extra gladiator this time around. However, I did pull out ahead on this one!

Battle #4
After one win I reach the midway battle, still on the road looking at 26 mana, scatter shot, basic, and blast. I’m going earth on this one, for Quora and the double attack. Apparently they were scared of me, they fled the scene.

Battle #5 (Link)
The downhill fights, starting at home, since that has been great for me… 39 mana, true strike, trample, conscript, only water and death. Going water on this one, with a lot of opportunity attacks. They went water as well, that trample could become a problem. However, I came out on top, I have to say the shield repair is what saved me in this fight!

Battle #6 (Link)
Staying in the home arena on this one, 44 mana, melee from anywhere, magic hits shield first, and snipe, oh and only water and death. Going light on this one, hoping to beat back the darkness, they went death, so this might not feel good for me with those two gladiators sniping back there. However, I chewed through the defense quickly and they died before they could do much damage to me, a good win!

Battle #7 (Link)
The last fight of the brawl, on the enemies turf with 52 mana, snipe, knockout, and no ranged, also, only earth and dragon allowed. I’m going earth on this one, hoping that quora can keep them at bay. They went earth as well, shocker… but a different line up than myself. My sandworm was the MVP here, just knocking out that backline, granted, the snipe on their quora with an affliction so they couldn’t heal, that did not hurt.

Just under 4 in a half hours to go on this one and I am sitting at 3 and 2, not bad, but not great. The guild is in first place, not by much, hopefully we can hold it!
This was a good one for me, I ended up 5 and 2! The guild was solid on this one as well, we ended up in 2nd place, a great place to be!
