Celestial Harpy: My entry to "Splinterlands Art Contest Week 278!".

Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa!

Here I am again in the Splinterlands Contest week round. The truth is that there are many great artists here, so I promise to strive to always improve and give my best. At the moment, I am learning and practicing in my possible moments, sometimes I get dazed from work and my energy is already at "0".

Leaving that aside, I tell you that my inspiration for this week was a muse of antiquity, because on the one hand I imagined her to be radiantly seductive with elegant feathers and on the other, a dangerous weapon to murder the men who go to high places mountains. The playing card I was inspired by is: Celestial Harpy

The truth is that the game card caught my attention because it reminded me of some episodes of the anime Inuyasha, where some species of flying harpies came down from the mountains to devour the werewolves. Of course, those harpies weren't as cute as this one I made (LOL), they were pretty rough looking. And that was my key point, humanizing the character of the card, but preserving points like his feathers and other details.

Celestial Harpy, Splinterlands Original Art

About my drawing, I wanted a feminine and charming figure. I kept some of the blue tones, and incorporated some more, which although far from the original art, I liked the result. The drawing process took me several hours, I was quite entertained and then during the work day I discontinued it, to finish at some free moment of relaxation.

One of the things that was most complicated for me when drawing was the sketch. Haha, I lost count of the times I made and erased strokes. In addition to the clothing I wanted to incorporate, I chose to make it in layers because I wanted it to be adapted to her figure. It's the second time I've drawn such big breasts, hehe the tutorial "They're like water bombs" was useful. After getting the sketch the way I liked it, I corrected it separately by erasing some lines that were outside of what they should be. I have the habit of following the line to a certain point and what I do is make a bit of a mess. Then I integrated the layers and continued cleaning.

Let's quickly see the Drawing process:

To draw I used my tablet, pencil and Medibang Paint as a drawing program. I started with a quick sketch for a structure, then defined this, I proceeded to make outlines and details. To do this, I used 3 layers of eyeliner, which I then integrated. At this stage I used a pencil and later an ink-style pen, varying thicknesses of 3, 4 and 7. Then I moved on to a stage of cleaning the strokes, as well as correcting some lines hehe, which I didn't like per se. I then moved on to base colors, each one per layer and using the Paint Bucket tool. Later I added details, such as shadows and lights, at this stage I only used an airbrush. Lastly I added some effects using layers like luminosity and multiply. I also made the background, based on a dark blue gradient, cloud simulating strokes in pastel brush 2 and finally the Gaussian blur. Let's quickly look at the drawing process:

Sketch, outlining and line cleaning:

What did you think of my version of Celestial Harpy?

It has enchanted me. She is undoubtedly a Harpy who could murder any man, even if she is sweet! I loved how my eyes turned out, I have practiced this point a lot lately, playing with three shades for them in aqueous acrylic, and then using a blurry brush with touches. For the marked details, I use a brush and a clipping mask.

For this occasion, it seems to be everything. If you made it this far, thank you very much for your time. Greetings, La Cochina en Salsa says goodbye.
